yeah, our EUC participation which grew far outnumbered the esk8 participation which shrank since last time.

Kinda wish i’d known something more to draw more esk8 out.

If anyone want’s EUC results in here. LMK i can add them too.

You dont have to post the results but I am curious who was faster? Esk8 I assume because the way bigger contact patch.

I think the location makes it really hard, It’s great for LAPEV people and the people that are dedicated will make the trek but people like me that would absolutely love to go if it was something that was within a couple of hour. Being tucked in almost the very corner of a massive country will always make it hard. It is probably the best area besides maybe Fresno/Merced area that would split the difference between the baesk8 people and the 2 of us near sac, lol, and LAPEV people but as far as I know, LAPEV is probably the best group to target since they have the highest concentration of people that would race.

6 EUCs were under 1:20 which IIRC is faster than the best EUC last time.

ESK8 still holds track record.

I should add Roger is an intro 2 speed regular in Los Angeles.

Do the esk8 production board guys even feel like they could show up and compete I guess? Cause all the EUC guys run production right?

We did get Chicago and Portland to represent.

But esk8 numbers were down from previous events.
Some ideas as to why,

  • it’s a big track it’s intimidating.
  • not enough esk8 marketing.
  • second event in the same year.

I think that’s one of the benefits of the qualifying based classes. it makes pro, sportsman and starters pretty competitive.

I assume you’re not counting SRB as production? (half were completes by SRB, the other half were rolling chassis. ) otherwise every board there was also a production board except the redember

Yeah I was thinking SRBs are kind of in a class if their own. Purposefully built race machines.

Oh, and Denver represented too. how could i forget.

@Heathlewis and friends made the trip. Unfortunately Heath had an accident and wasn’t up for qualifying. but he hung out and added to the ESK8 vibes.

What do most do for accommodations?

@hoytskate beating stooge in sportsman class seemed pretty stoked. I’m pretty sure they are gunning to qualify into pro next time. Dadbod is fast.

I think a good rider on a @Kaly xlr could compete too, that particular track the long straight gives some advantage to top speeds.

it’s an OHV/BLM area so you can camp outside of the facilities, and for the overnight during the event we were allowed to camp inside the facilities. but it was cold. Most people got nearby hotels. ( ~20min away )

I used my EV, to charge my boards, cook my food, and keep me warm at night. a sort of all electric overnight challenge.

Worth calling attention to… holy crap these times were close.

Yeah that was an exciting race for sure.

Ah that’s super dope, and good to know.

Yeah definitely super close and better than the EUC times :stuck_out_tongue:

While LAPEV/EBSA ran the event this time. @MoeStooge still kept us moving forward.

We realized the absolute best job of the event was the Flagger. Best views. Guess who took that job.
