yes…just checked that as well

I’d be surprised if it was the FW, but give it a try and let us know.

Why is it that the crazy fast boards pushing 60 mph run 8s voltages? Is it solely because of the RC escs and their limits, Or does running a lower voltage with higher P groups for more amps capitalize on energy efficiencies and minimize weight for their boards?

Mostly. Also because inrunner have very high power but also high KV. Too many volts spin too fast.

No not really. Weight is hardly a concern, probably less efficient if anything. More amps = more heat usually…

So the main thing getting them those speeds is the esc, motor, and gearing? Why would that not be more widely adopted on street boards then?

Some of them are running 4 pole, high kv motors and the lower voltage, higher amperage benefits those lightning boys.

Waiting for somebody to be like ā€œfuck it, 100A @ 12S and 4 pole 480kv: 100mph boardā€.

So is it possible
lol someone needa do it

Because it’s all about max power delivery… Do you really need such high power outputs on a street board?

your final drive rpm turns into speed with your wheel diameter. final drive rpm is effected only by kv and operating voltage.

well no, but actually yes.

Yeah sure 100mph board is possible… Who’s gonna/can ride it?

Right. I’m pretty tempted to throw together a build like that, but I’m not fit to run with the big dawgs on this…
(V)ESC options could be better too… VESC6 MKIV or w/e could do 100A w/ some extra cooling, otherwise, what?

will do…

I’m surprised no one has done it just to make the claim. Just because you may have a 100 mph board doesn’t mean you ride it that fast :man_shrugging:
but it sure would make em do a double take

With the new higher voltage ESCs, we’ll see more higher mph boards and more lower kv motors.

Does up-ing the kv dramatically increase the temps by itself? Or is that just mainly a preference/balance of torque to speed?

Higher kv means you need higher amps at low rpm to get moving. More amps = more heat.

How do you know it will go that fast then?

Fake it to you make it.
And if they challenge/doubt you, you hold the drive wheels up to their ear, and give them a little spin;

permanently deafening them.

Well if we’re just talking about the wheels spinning 100mph, I can make my board do that in a few minutes…
