ABS and other plastic enclosures cannot hold the weight of your components; you must secure them to the deck. But if you get a fiberglass or carbon fiber enclosure, those will hold up just fine. They also won’t chip and crack as easily, so that’s what most of us are using.


How about here…

I find that once I make a small cut in the heat shrink with a utility knife I can just tear the heatshrink apart with my hands. Or, lock your utility knife so that it only sticks out like a mm, and then cut carefully.

I can’t quite tell for sure where here is in that picture. I just mounted mine alongside roughly the midpoint of the battery pack, as far outside it as would fit in the enclosure. I don’t know if that works well or not. I expect it will. My deck is maple and fiberglass.

That would be my first choice from a theoretical perspective. Hopefully someone with some actual experience will come along and comment.

Because to my knowledge no socket exists for the specific package the DRV is available in, and designing something like that from scratch would be ridiculously expensive and time consuming.

Hey guys, new owner of a brand new focbox unity. I know the VESC 5 FW is going to support I believe. Was wondering if there was any other way to go about setup without a google phone (iPhone user). Havent found much thus far.
The new VESC software is the future, just wanna test it

you can also install and setup fw5 using the vesc-tool apps built for windows or linux

thx, imma give it a go. hope i don’t brick my Unity…but these micro brake/cutoffs are driving me nuts…i’m convinced its software related.

ahhhh i was F-ing up…lol forgot the unity had a built in on/off switch. Thought I had a dead unit. Connected and installing VESC 5

Do 345 belts fit 36/16 pulley ratio on TB reverse mounts

For Reverse
16/36 = 320/330mm
16/40 = 345mm

Have you checked your phase leads for cold solder joints / continuity?

yes. same thing is happening on two different Unity units. changed motors…checked phase…checked FETs the works.
