Archived: the OG noob question thread! šŸ˜€

I need a matching motor mount kit for this, so:
Pulley
Belt
Motor mount plate
Trucks
Wheels
(bearings are not really necessary, got them already)

As an alternative to this:

Maybe I can get the parts cheaper seperately and save on shipping.
I would buy them from dickyho on ebay. I would love to hear your guys recommendations.

The motor is a d shaft 10mm

Are there trampa elastomer barrel alternatives hardness wise? Mine are way to soft already after only 400km. @Trampa

just to clarify somehting that may well be obvious - when people say focbox this focbox that, they’re referring to the Enertion Unity Focbox, right?

Usually Focbox refers to the single v1.6 or v1.7 Enertion FocBox,
Unity refers to the Enertion FocBox Unity

But I’ve seen people also use just FocBox when referring to the Unity, it depends on the context

Focbox v1.6/1.7:

Do some of you know the duty rate for Europe for parts from China etc? Also, are taxes included for this shop? @Anubis

How much is shipping to Germany by the way?
For the case that I don’t hit 300 bucks

So no bad surprises :)?
Sounds great!
How much is that?
I can’t check on your shops website until I register etc I’m afraid…

What about this as cheapest enclose possible - spray it black and you got yourself an enclosure…
Its only 4,45cm or 1 3/4 inches in height so optimal size i guess. Roughly 16cm wide and 50cm long. VESC and stuff in the small chamber and Battery in the big one.

One question: For my little flexy board, is a 28143 (cm) battery safe? 3 cm is REALLY thin… i would secure the battery to the ground of the box, i fear that when the deck flexes, my battery or the enclosure gets crushed…

Maybe make a small support frame around the battery? Like a cage or so?

People do the same with flower pots… i really can’t recommend it. the plastic around the screws will fail real quick since the vibrations are so strong. you don’t wan the guts falling out mid-ride
That would make an awful crash with many broken parts. you could always ask @BigBen what small enclosures he has as they are amazing quality and a very reasonable price. it depends what size battery you are wanting.

I can choose if i want a more rectangle or cubic one… I think id rather have 5cm for the battery in order to keep sfae from breaking the battery in half

the plastic material will break. We always use either abs, fibreglass, or sometimes carbon fibre.
The other option is topmounted like @rusins did with one of his builds (can’t remember where).
he used a very big pencil case velcro-ed down to the board

I have a build in the works where I’m doing that; but I think you have me confused with someone else.

ah oups… then i can’t remember who did it then. it was a big pencil case at the back of the board

?

Would I have to worry about the deck flex though?

I am in need of two simple vesc, with priority being cheap and fast delivery in the Eu in these difficult times. Any reason not to buy these? Wanted to try the x makers small ones, but the China thing…

Edit: I would use x makers remote, witch conects to ppm and uart, does this make a difference in buying a single or a dual unit?

I’m going to buy the same ones, nothing wrong with them as far I can tell  couldn’t find a better deal

Here is my board. It does flex pretty much, but do you think it will cause problems?
If so, do you happen to know really budget options with similar look/shape?

How much do Evolve DKP trucks extend the actual wheelbase compared to tkp trucks?
