@MysticalDork If i use the same type of 12V battery, does it matter what Ah? I have found 14Ah
and the exact same ones in my superchair. Is there something to look for in particular that i must avoid?
Are there any things to make my Board more efficient on the Software side? Except of course lowering the settings so i just do 10mp/h for example.
Yes those are the good ones. Same ones enertion, Evolve, and Metro-board use.
Yes â set a maximum speed in software that is 90 - 95% of the boards maximum speed.
If the board is capable of 32.2mph, for example, set the max speed in software to 30.6mph.
Once you get to 30mph there is no sense in dumping all kinds of power into the system just to get you a couple extra mph. Thatâs a range-killer.
But it wouldnât make sense if my board is capable of driving at 31mph but i only ride at 21max. Sure i could set the maximum to 21mph but it that case i doesnât bring a benefit, right?
Well it would benefit you in an extreme range extension but I donât think most of us are willing to sacrifice that much top-speed.
I understand, but in my case lowering the top speed by 10mph (from 31 to 21) doesnât bring a benefit because i donât even top 21 either way. Or is my brain playing a game with me right now? If 31 is max and i utilize it, then it would make more sense to cap the last few percent compared to a huge Jump like mine is with 31 to 21. Correct me if iâm wrong.
What is your battery voltage, gear ratio, wheel size, and motor Kv?
Battery depends. I use a 10s4p 30Q pack and a 12s2p Lipo pack.
Gear Ratio 4.5 (16/72)
Wheel Size 200mm
Each 190kv. (2wd)
I would reduce the motor pulley to 15T
And maybe consider trying 170Kv motors to see if you like them, but unsensored that will cog more on startup.
Software-wise, I donât think there is much. Only hardware.
Well buying new Motors wouldnât be smart because i already have 4 6374 190kvs
Might have to sell 1 or 2 of them anyway (sk3 unsensored) Are 170âs more efficient? And if those are all optionsâŚwell then i have to live with it.
I really didnât notice much difference going from 170kv to 190kv.
Play with your pulleys ratios.
Decreasing your wheel size would also give you more torque and less speed and make it more efficient â but then youâd have to change the wheels. Not sure if you want that.
does that mean if you have more torque you have a better range? or is this only about reducing top speed to increase range?
Nah, i specifically build this to be a offroad Board. Well i could buy 165mm tires and tubes once mine are worn off.
^potentially but no one has implemented it to my knowledge
when you reduce the wheel size it takes less motor current for the same acceleration, but thereâs less top speed, and heating reduces proportionally to the square of the current
half the wheel size takes half the current and produces 1/4th the heat for the same acceleration but gives half the top speed, for example
Speed is after not important any more after my accident.
With my 200mm 35kmh feels waay faster than with 38 on my hubs.
If i rode on the street i only drive it to a max speed of 35km/h (21mph) Regular cruising is max 30km/h (18mph) Usually even less if iâm in the woods or offroading.
omg i understood. Thank you Professor
