After reading great things about both the Stormcore and the Puck, I decided an order with Lacroix was on the cards. Upon holding the Midnight Puck, I instantly realise, it’s just way too small for my hand and I get a bit crampy gripping it, fair enough I do have long fingers so these things are no longer a surprise to me.
I printed the Puck-Puck-Bruce from DRI, almost bought their sensual red/black one in the process, so very nice looking in Nylon. It felt like a nicer grip, but I still didn’t have anywhere for my pinky.
I feel like @poastoast puck design nailed the pinky rest pretty well. If you’re looking for alternative Puck designs definitely check out the contest entries we had:
If you’re looking to design your own shell, Hoyt graciously agreed to open source their internal 3D models for the puck:
They look good, but I have spent enough time learning blender this year, it’s time to do my own. I had aready come across those resources thank you, otherwise it would likely be too daunting a task. I am struggling to open the STEP files in that repo, but was planning to use the PuckBruce STL to guide me through the process
The Prusa Silcer tool is fantastic, so I bet their printer is too. I’m stuck with the old Mars, invested before they invented Mono (i.e. 3x Turbo). So need a good excuse, better than my LCD has just failed bullet-holing my new Trampa Wand skin. At least it wasn’t a fatal blow.
