Sooooo here we are exactly one year later and while the OG #09 has found a loving(?) home with @poastoast, I found out for the 17th time that i’m addicted to esk8.

#09 2024 fell off the back of a truck and landed on my doorstep today and I couldn’t be happier

The packaging and the unboxing experience in general was (as the slogan suggests) next level. The attention to detail on EVERYTHING down to the foam inserts in the box is just incredible. A truly premium product and unboxing experience.

I only had the last scraps of daylight to squeeze in a maiden voyage and most of it was in the dark so I took it pretty easy. But yeah. I’m in love with esk8 again.

With the maiden voyage out of the way, the blasphemy shall begin :smiling_imp: for real tho i’ll try keep it classy this time…

Its coming into the colder months here so generally i’ll keep the feetsies covered for warmth

Board came just in time for @poastoast to come visit next week! I’ve taken a couple days annual leave while he’s here to hang out and get some kms on the board

The whole heel literally just blew out. Took nearly two months to heal, i’m super lucky and grateful that it didn’t get infected

Can this be considered a rebound relationship? It’s sounding like that aunt who goes through a breakup and gets a new boyfriend every other week. #totallynotfromsecondhandexperience

Its kinda like that but kinda more like breaking up and getting back together with the same person?

If i got a scooter, THAT would be a rebound :joy:

Ever figure this out? I’ve riden in the rain too another belt drive and had similar can’t explain it sounds like a bunch of stuff flying around but can’t find any. Going to do my best to keep my m1 dry

Only if you got a scooter and cut the handle off and rode it like a speed board… then a week later added another one to make it a skateboard. I guess more like the mom in psyco or the manakin in umbrella academy. Whatvim trying to say is your nuts bunt not regular, mor like the ones stuck in airplane seats nuts

Mach got new (old) shoes courtesy of @BillGordon

Also got new bushings to tinker with, for now i just put all the new ones in, will play with swapping some of the krank ones into the mix as well.

Got this kegel pulley kit from Liam during the week. With the boas on 16:45 calculator is telling me i’ll top out at around 50kph… this should be ok for me i think, and it makes it an easy hot swap between wheels.

Keen to get out on it in the morning and see how it feels! Will likely need to play with the RTS settings to suit the wheel change, but that should be a fun little learning experience in itself

Things went well today!!

The double barrel in the front lasted less than 50m until I swapped the roadside back to the krank cone that was previously there  I’m not convinced on the APS tbh, my past experiences have been good but I don’t think it vibes with this board… will keep playing with bushings.

The wheels are awesome! Little bit sketchy over debris, especially with the RTS, definitely keeps me on my toes. For smooth paths/roads, these wheels are awesome and efficiency is significantly better. I don’t have any comparative numbers but the app told me I still had over 50% battery left after 32km today so it seems promising I might get to at least 50km.

The production sr125s are already a lot more efficient than the ones on the genesis boards, due to being a harder duro rubber, but they are still thirsty wheels! They really are amazing wheels though and perfect for exploring pretty much anywhere you want at the cost of range. I think i’ll be chopping and changing between wheel types semi regularly tbh.

I did have to tinker with the RTS a little, but i don’t fully understand exactly what all the settings are meant to do, so I was kinda cautious… @Tony_Stark is there a ‘how to’ anywhere for RTS settings?

i also completely redesigned the handle last night. Printed and fitted today, very happy with it and I believe it is good enough to share. Have at it

STEP and F3D for big boys
Mach1 handle.f3d (913.8 KB)
Mach1 handle.step (520.3 KB)

3MF for basic bitches
handle.3mf (58.6 KB)
handlemountleft.3mf (40.2 KB)
handlemountright.3mf (40.6 KB)
handlespacerleft.3mf (10.1 KB)
handlespacerright.3mf (10.1 KB)

I’ve designed it with spacers to accommodate printer and/or mount location tolerances, also kinda cool to add a little color splash. I recommend printing the handle and the mounts first, fitting the mounts to the board mounts, then measuring the gap left with the handle in place. Split that measurement in two and print the spacers at that height.

You will need:
4 x M5 x 30 CSK
4 x M4 x 12 SHC
4 x M5 Nyloc nuts

If you add this handle to your Mach, be sure to send me a photo and let me know what you think!!

Cheers, enjoy!

EDIT: uploaded revised design

Apologies to anyone who has already downloaded/printed, i made a slight revision to the profile of the handle as I found the top inner fillet a little bit too harsh, so i’ve mellowed it out… this affects all pieces although if you just print the new handle it will still work with the old mounts and spacers, they’ll just be slightly different where they meet… Sorry!
