Many people, including myself. 100 motor amps on my high torque setup wasn’t even enough to satisfy my torque needs. I didn’t have the space nor the money for 4wd either. On my lower torque setup, the 100 motor amps in running is nowhere near enough. I hear the ubox can comfortably go over 100 motor amps, but that thing has issues and wont fit in my enclosure.
I keep seeing people say that split ppm for 4wd would make it more complicated to power on/off, and i dont really see why. I mean the xenith can do roll to start as well as auto shutoff when inactive. Would that not be perfectly fine? Furthermore, 2 power buttons could also have its own benefits. Especially with hubs/direct drive, you could turn off the front motors if youre running low on power, with a fair distance left to go, right? Again, could be wrong about all of this, as i am a stupid.
Spintend just told me they’ll be back in stock this weekend, after the Halloween discount the Xenith and Ubox will be the same price. Kind of a no-brainer to go for the 16s no?
this is starting to feel like exway atlas 4wd. the escs communicate with each other over Bluetooth and they must be turned on individually
I’d suggest you need to run shorter gearing, lower Kv motors or smaller diameter wheels dude. Ultimately there is a limit to how many Amps you can feed a motor and not get thermal issues, 100A is plenty for most people
I was running 140kv motors on 12s on 18:44 with tb110. I ride on the duty cycle limit.
I’m heavier, but I’m not that heavy. about 90kg with all of the gear I wear.
top speed of that setup is 27mph.

I just started riding direct drive, and these things can coast pretty much just as good as a kick board. And honestly my wheel bearings are FUCKED right now, which makes that more impressive. I think itd be really cool though if i could just hit a second power button to enter “race mode,” or stick to low power for cruisin around or running out of battery. Id like to see how that would behave compared to different speed modes via metr, remote modes, etc.
Wonder how feasible this is.

That is an interesting idea. Regen seems pretty negligible to me under most circumstances, but if you were lets say running some hubs in the front, purely to harvest back some energy… i dont know how effective it would be, but its definitely an interesting concept. Maybe a regen-only esc?
Unfortunately for this to work you’d have to sneak past the first law of thermodynamics.
Not having hubs in the front at all would be the most efficient option. I think regen over an entire ride is less than 10% extra range
Yeah, i knew it was a pretty small amount of energy. Its not a worthwhile concept to pursue, and this would probably have some kind of serious downsides, like losing freerolling ability, but… reversed gearing to the regen motors? Lmao. Thatd be a hell of an expensive and probably useless science experiment.
Oh, also, im sure ive got my vesc tool settings all fucked up, so a question for yous guys: xenith can handle 100A, from what ive read here. I currently have motor amps set to 50, battery 30 i think. so i can totally turn that up, right?

So this is a street build then I guess? 27mph top speed should be a pretty decent in the torque department but yeah if you want more torque you should consider going higher voltage (to maintain a decent top speed) and shorter gearing if possible
I wish I could get my hands on a fancy redacted+ ESC but I’m afraid that’s not possible. Anything else is too big for that enclosure. Double stack would scrape the ground
