I doubt I’d need more than 20 miles on a charge and that only rarely. I’m less concerned about the range than the durability of the pack under load, like steep hill climbing. I’m only 150lbs though so may not be an issue.
Imho, you already know what you want. A compromise at this point without some major discount or performance increase would make me kinda nervous. 40+ days right now is probably accurate as it’s the tail end of the lunar new year so they’re playing catch up on orders and production… but it’s not riding season where im at so id go for the delayed gratification
Grain of salt time: Im a recovering giant battery addict so id also look up a size, if a battery is too big it just lasts longer and gets less wear and tear from your typical ride, if its too small you hit its limits before youre done and feel like you wasted your money. Also arnt you coming from a 500ish watt hour battery running similar tires?
The issue i see with just getting that 770wh pack is that the acedeck will deliver more power, and eat up those wh more quickly. If you have more torque and speed available will you use less to extend the range of the pack to get the mileage/runtime you want or will you use its greater capabilities and be left wanting a little more runtime/mileage?
If it was me, id get the 40day delivery option or go up a size if i can budget the price.
I’d probably get the 1036Wh 50E battery so same size as the one I wanted just not the S cells. I could go up to the 1295Wh 50E pack, that might be the best solution. I ride all year, even in the cold and snow, so it’s always riding season.
The 14s4p 50S pack (1036wh) would probably be your best bet if you’re looking for 20+/- miles without sacrificing much performance. The 50E’s will sag more under load once they start draining down. Have you checked with Acedeck to see when they’ll have the 14s5p 1295wh 50S pack back in stock? That would be my pick, but the 14s4p will be a good pick as well for a bit less range.
I’m thinking maybe the larger 14S5P 1295Wh E pack shouldn’t sag too much more than the 14S4P 1036Wh S pack? The 14S5P 1295Wh S pack currently not available is a big price jump, another $300 more than the same size E pack.
The Samsung 50e is only rated at 9.8amps continuous.
It is probably barely a 4000mah cell at that rate, Where the 50s would likely still provide close to 5000mah, and likely stay much cooler.
@5 amps it is equal to the P42a
Perhaps the 50e pack is fine and dandy for a lighter rider going slower, without much elevation change, and who is looking to save a few bucks.
I was surprised it is even offered in a prebuilt Esk8.
Valuable data. Sigh, guess I’ll have to get the board with the 1036Wh 50S pack and try to forget about it for the next 40+ days.
Dont get 50e. 50e has no place in electric skateboards.
Appreciate the feedback. I think I’ve talked myself into getting the smallest (777Wh) 50S pack now then if it turns out that it’s not enough I can buy a larger pack and sell the old pack, should have a few hundred dollars of value to someone so in the end my overall cost would be about the same. This gets me the board in a week and lets me try it in the snow whereas waiting 40+ days the snow could be gone until next year. I won’t be taking any long rides until things warm up a lot more anyway. Might seem like a weird way to go but it’s worth it for me to get the board sooner and start experimenting with it.
if you are on a tight budget the best bang for the buck is lipo i used them for many year and still used them
Did you reply to the wrong thread? Because that’s not an option.
no i was talking about option , all my life my i custom all of my stuff , you tread inspire me to buy the horizon suspension trucks and used them on my mbs board ![]()
Interesting, let us know how that turns out ![]()
i decided to purchase acedeck Nyx z3 but i made a mistake when i ordered it with the 3p battery pack and now they want me to paid 20% of the total value of the board and also 150$ of shipping ! worst customer service i ever seen !
Which pack are you trying to get? Is it being shipped separately from the board?
i just receive the board today , the battery pack 14s 3p 777wh , am selling it with the esc.
for me this board is very nice built but performance is for newbie , not gonna try the board until i swap my vesc and my lipo pack , also adding another geardrive on the front and voila the board will be my taste
Update !! i found that i can set battery cells count so now i can use any voltage i want from 6s ! so i keep my board very happy i will now able to use my lipo pack on the top of the 14s 3p pack , i just nee to found a way to add a connector somewhere
How do you know the performance if you haven’t tried the board?
ok let do some math here , the acedeck as 145A phase current for both motors 150kv with max speed of about 60kph
my current set up is 150A phase current for each motors , and 18s with 190kv motors
so in conclusion my diy build is 2 time more powerful (about 15kw) and my top speed is 84 kph
the aceboard look very nice and build quality and suspension is great but lack of power for sure
OK I can see how compared to your DIY setup it would be lower performance. Compared to my Atlas it will be higher performance, and my Atlas has enough power to shoot the board out from under me if I’m not paying attention ![]()
