Fat spacer bars with center threads are probably the easiest, cheapest, and best way to go.

I tried adding a rectangular plate with aluminum (more sloppy, thin, stuff I cut myself) and it was not great.

If it’s good enough for the stoogeboards, it will work here.

Btw, @DEEIF what tried to eat that top bar? Did an outrunner grind that pattern?

Lol, that’s exactly what happened.

FYI. Your drawing must have not uploaded correctly. Here is a more accurate price. This is for 6061 .250"

Oh, thanks. I couldn’t remove the legend box from the drawing generator options in the shapr3d wizard.

Might be outrunner grind, but I don’t think it is… probably mounts dropping to the ground when I forgot to tighten stuff

Thank you, I went back and looked some of the fancier materials when I figured out how to remove the extraneous features. Reasonable prices.

@Arzamenable, here are the files, nearly identical to yours. Do you have an idea of where you will place the idlers?

This reel of Prusamint PLA+ is the most organized thing here.

Crazy how good they are spooled

You made me take a look if Prusa really makes PLA+ since I haven’t seen it in their eshop before. Doesn’t seem to be the case. Must be regular PLA. Not that it affects how flawlessly it’s spooled of course.

Is it not plus? Sorry. It’s priced like plus.

I believe they only make regular PLA. They make it in house here in the Czech Republic and they are pretty strict about the quality. They guarantee ±0.02mm precision in the diameter. They will even give you the report from diameter measurements with each spool. I guess that’s why it’s more expensive than Chinese filaments. I buy from them because they are local and they do cool stuff.

Everything is so tight and cramped. I don’t have my ring pliers (to remove pulley circlips) or the lacroix 6389s on hand.

In fact, I need to get my stuff out of storage. My appt is empty save for a 3d printer, air mattress and the above contraption.

You fucking madman. I didn’t think this project would be seen through to the end

I can’t quit at this point. The money spent just parts is embarrassing.

That right there is the esk8 spirit!

It’s like

This quad drive is probably the only real attempt at innovation in DIY in a long time. I remember when we were oooing and ahhhing over what planter boxes to use for an enclosure.

Reminds me of the excitement from @MorrisHsu 's geardrives.

I’ll be the first to admit this doesn’t solve any problems or open new ways of skating. It kind of just needs to be done even if it’s impractical, inefficient, heavy, and expensive.

Have you ever looked at a series of child’s doodles of robots or monster trucks? They get progressively more ridiculous with more guns, rockets and tires.

This is the Esk8 equivalent.
