When you dont have a wood press/vac bag but still wanna clamp a thin layer of veneer i feel like you
Why not cnc!?
I see now why you didn’t put the motors close together. The magnetic field interfere with each other. Can do a file for cnc if u need
Cause I don’t have a cnc… yet.

I’ll be honest, I hadn’t experienced or considered field interference. But really, the more pressing issue is motor clearance. They do fit, I just messed up here.
Yup, those are trampa hangars on Surfrodz mids pivoting on hexl bases.
Also smaller bb and mt inrunners for mock up purposes only.
Kindly clutch your pearls somewhere else. If it fits, I sits.
I can’t even begin to imagine how heavy this build will be with 8 motors and like a 12p battery lol
If you need custom steel gears me and @Minimadness can probably help you out!
You can get some decently priced cnc motor mount plates from members like @surfnacho
Mounts are pretty simple to design. I can do the design if you like, just need some basic dimensions, ctc distance, angles, etc.
And @Bavioze I’m totally open to community help with some of the more precise parts.
I’ll be possibly incommunicado for the next 6 days.
I’m a big fan of @moon’s Carbon fiber plates. I aluminum might be easier to produce one of pieces.
What are the major design specs that are needed?
Those carbon plates are made to order from an online carbon Cnc shop. They make them in small batches (for each order I believe) so one offs might not cost too much.
sendcutsend
Im not even a fan of my cf plates. Thats why I dont make them
1.Bolt pattern diameter of the clamp
2.Diameter of motor plate hole
3.Max and Min ctc distance.
4.Diameter of the 3 circles that make up the mount
5.Do you want to keep the same angle between motors? (120 degress)
aluminum ftw. I can send you a 3d print before sending it off to cnc
I think we can make you some without profit, just to see how far we can push stuff. When interested feel free to send @Minimadness or me a message, we can even involve @Creavenger in this
Need to finish the CNC first though
I have an embarrassing dxf generated up for sendcutsend already.
It’s on my iPad. If I have connectivity, I’ll try to upload it.
Look at you, going all technical and stuff
Its good to give the top side where you have the one sharp corner a fillet, mills always have a fillet with inner corners. The rest of the lookies are gr8!
Also on a sidenote, the hexagon socket head heads of m4 screws are 4 mm high i think
That is looking super nice! Need this 3d printed to check fit before cnc? lmk
Mike… did i ever tell you you’re my esk8 hero…
