Cool brother I was just wondering how you can supply gear drives pre meshed without motors and gears.

Just one option on pinion then?

Gears are already installed into exact position as they spin in bearings, you just insert motor with keyway into gear and just screw motor on mount. That’s all

As you can see in picture the gear is already in place:

Like the idea here. Probably should have already known this but lazy.

Good work father and son.

We did some research on motors before going with helix and found out that a lot of motors are spinning not truth and varies sometimes by even whole 1mm which is not healthy for gears especially helix gears as slight misalignment can fck them up. So we added bearings to the motor side to allow motor spin how it wants but allow gear spin only truthfully which amazingly reduced noise even on straight gears and by using angular bearings we mitigated axial loads of gears which save your motor/wheel bearings.

Thats exactly why I asked. Tolerances. Looks like you sorted that out. So many guys do not mesh correctly. Nice work.

Stop it. Think of the wallets.

Isn’t this Anonymous Wallet Abuser Meeting Club?

:sob::sob::sob: its true! Bring me those bluetooth individual cell voltage reading switches and you can abuse my wallet all you like

I was thinking and like I decided it’s better to make separate device based on esp32 wifi based when you don’t need any app or etc

I got message from @3DServisas saying that you need to use Loctite 648 to glue keyway to axle and apply to the motor axle too and insert into gear and bolt motor in place let it dry, add grease, put cover on and drive

Can you make it?

And what do you mean by wifi based? It would be good if it was app based so it could alert your phone mid-ride if your battery is about to take a shit

The hardest part is find cheap solution for reading 12/13 cells independently. There are some good chips but they are like full fledged balancer ic like the ones use in DieBieBMS and FlexiBms processor part is pretty much easy.

I am looking forward to receiving the flexibms for testing, but surely something that just reads voltages is gonna be smaller than something that balances them…

Balance part on the stuff is usually just 2 components like few small resistors for each cell

@Kug3lis just chiming in to say I’d buy two to replace my BMSs if you did make these!

I understand, but you have to also consider this device would have to be always on (which would drain power) or implement a switch or etc to make it some how more power efficient

Not sure what Al wants but I wouldn’t mind having to turn the board on to see the voltages :man_shrugging:t2:

I understand what you mean though. I already have a GPS tracker on my board, so I don’t need more passive power leeching for my poor little 10s3p :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Yesssss, a switch :drooling_face::drooling_face::drooling_face:

Almost  well, if it exists, here we’re not far !!
When we will have another bearing for sealing on the outer part of the wheel gear adaptor, with herringbone gear, we will be even closer to (my) perfection area!
It is already way over my expectations.
It really arrived ready to spin!

This is just after opening the box, 1st shooting.

This would increase the width even more so… I don’t think many would like to ride on 300 hangers  Also gear drive is dry and rubber is rubbing it would spin even more freely with grease
