20s Little FOCers on stooge SRB v5#1

I think it’s worth the change
If you want to keep your knee caps anyways 45 mph is entering the point of no return if you eat it.

I realized if you add them to the cart it ends up showing the actual color coordination to durometer
But thank you dude I really appreciate it.

Weird how it isn’t stated nonetheless

I’ve started liking red front green back. More turn up front but stability out back. I weigh 200lbs no gear.

That’s how much I weigh.
I’m ready to purchase these to just screw around with it. I’m trying to figure out if I’m going to actually go to esk8con or if I’m gonna hang back this year.

Probably best to just to leave it how it is for now.
Nobody is going to be going very fast at esk8con anyways it’s all shiftin & driftin

I might try krank 87a up front. And 87a in the rear.

it wasn’t loose enough for me to say “ok i need to change it” and the board wasn’t geared over 45. more of a slight hinderance than anything. would’ve definitely changed it for something like tef1

Ended up not screwing it up….
Just a sneak peak of the work I’ve been doing.
Lots more to be done. Not gonna make it to I2s tmr unfortunately :frowning:

Shakedown ride wasn’t bad, but wasn’t exactly great.

I tend to always scrape my pan on the bottom and it’s super annoying when especially when I’m leaned far over in a turn & my weight is not directly top down on the board this Makes it pretty hard to recover from when the board catches the floor and my moment run keeps me going foward.

I’m concluding that my riding style needs to change.
And also maybe further adjustments to my setup.

Currently I’m running mid / mid linkage points in consideration for esk8con.

My preferred would mid / dead & maybe that could work if I just run the front really loose.

Thoughts of bigger diameter tires to help with clearance are coming to mind aswell as a drop heim to help lateral forces in turning.

I preferably like to be cranked over really hard in a turn so much so that it feels like I’m on a birm like on a bmx race track

But thinking about how they don’t need much force to turn if your bushing setup is looser than hell.

I just hate a loose setup … skill issue I guess.

Initially I planned on not on competing at esk8con
But I since I impulsively bought I race ticket a couple days ago (FOMO)

it will be a little interesting as I have to change my riding style completely due to a injury I had about four years ago that left both shoulders just in shambles… It has progressively just got worse unbeknownst to me (kind of I’ve just dealt with it for this long)

Usually I like to use my left arm as a third point of contact to the ground to maintain stability in turn when I’m pushing it past traction limits.

But my shoulder is so badly hurt I can’t even drive a car with it. Or barely lift my board. Im going to go try and get it looked at today but I doubt they will figure it out in time.

I believe I’ll likely need surgery as my other shoulder did & that won’t happen before esk8con.

I still I will compete it’s just gonna be hard blocking some of your faster guys with that arm :joy:

Initially I planned on making these super grippers out of aluminum and I was going to utilize a 3-D printed guide to help drill the through holes for the grub screws to pop out of the top of the deck.

I did end up making one out of Aluminum
but of course I rushed it and it turned out poorly:(

The odds were against me considering I was working on a cabinet that had a tabletop that was not adhered to the actual cabinet and to top it off it was also on wheels… so as I was cutting it I was kinda chasing the cabinet around :joy:

I didn’t rush it because I wanted to but rather because I had to due to the fact of making a crapload of noise hand fabricating it. Being the new guy where I live in my condo it’s not a good look running a skillsaw for like a hour or two .

it came out extremely poor quality which i was pretty bummed by I love to making something out of my nothing scraps.
Took me a couple hours to get over it…

But eventually I just said who cares
100% infill on a PETG print should hold up…
So I hopped on solidworks and started modeling…

The idea is that I will inject threaded inserts into the print via soldering iron that allow for the grub screws to have actual reusable threads / height adjustment

And then I’ll bolt the 3D print to the underside of my V5 because I have the battery space :open_mouth:

Started the print time to go to bed
Update in the morning

What is the thing you’re making, exactly?

A plate with grub screws
designed to act like a BMX bike pedal digging into the Hexagonal pattern on my vans shoe

The secondary plate was for the underside of this angled portion

CAD image for reference tbd if I will finish this model. The toe portion should make the most difference in theory.

As if the vicious griptape I’m currently using isn’t enough. It totally is. But I’d like to see if this will have any positive effect in maintaining grip.

@tuckjohn
Lmk if it makes sense

Have you considered rivnuts as an option?

I thought about it. But that’s kind of a more permanent kinda deal & I’m not sure this is even worth keeping on my board in the first place until I actually try it.

I’d kinda like it to be removable in case I decide this is horseshit.

@tuckjohn

But it’s not a bad idea

Waffle pattern.

Looking forward to seeing how this works!

That arm can be sacrificed for the greater good. Besides you’re getting surgery anyways lol.

Ahaha I only called it a hexagonal pattern because it used hexagons to evenly layout the center points of each smaller hexagon.

(Ps are your waffles hexagon shaped? :grinning:)

I love that it’s matched to vans tread pattern.

still haven’t gone to the doctor yet I’m dreading it. it’s looking like I absolutely have to…

Something happened to my back and I haven’t been able walk or even put my shoes on for the past two days…

racing @ esk8con may be completely off the table :grimacing:
