What is your ultimate build if you had as much money as you wanted to spend (let’s try keeping the ideas serious though)
Mine:
Tb direct drive with tb110 90kv
TRAMPA vesc 75/300 x 4
Landyachtz evo with double stack enclosure
12s6p using Samsung 40t I think it fits
Tramps wand remote
Extras:
Davega
Metr pro
Sender to vinyl and epoxy the deck
My ultimate build would be 2 or 3 different builds.
small, light last mile board that might even pass for a push board. 8-10mile range max, urethane wheels. Kicktail.
something with a bit more range and big wheels. Like 12-15mile range, longboard deck, comfy
the heavy board. Long range, fast, big wheels, group rides. I wanna put it on the ground and tick off the miles until my legs give out. 20+ mile range, 30+mph. Too heavy to commute with but super fun for long rides.
There is no one perfect board. Match the board to the conditions, have several boards talored to suit your various needs.
Agreed!
Initially wanted the most stable board, so was building a "44
Tried it during a karting race event, but it doesnt like turning
so Im keeping: 1 daily, 1 for friends to lend, 1 MTB, all the rest
My “ultimate” changes the more experience I’ve gotten building and riding. Came from an ownboard off the shelf, upgraded that, built a custom deck, upgraded to Vesc’s and 6355s. Getting to see all the shortfalls and paying attention to the mechanically disadvantaged parts now being worked in an environment they weren’t meant for
Ultimate build is really about features for me in the components:
-Deck with some flex 35”-39”, enclosure designed around the deck. Low profile and low to normal ride height. LEDs in the nose and tail wired auto on and auto for braking. 12S3P 40Ts. VESC 6.6
-Direct drive or gear drive on cnc trucks, 10mm axles, re-engineered kingpin (all designed for esk8 abuse). Adjustable baseplate
97 flywheels
Its one 12s2p to one vesc and one to the other. No parallel connections just split pwm. Im already getting 20+ mi, i never kill the battery, The acceleration and torque is leaving rooster tails, I can climb up unbelievable hills, ive reached 35 mph at 3/4 throttle, what more do i need. If i add more batt its more weight. Everything fits in the pelican and looks sleek. Cost to build $1250
I have not. I was advised that i might get something like that by LHB but she stays straight as up to 35mph. Although letting off at high speeds is a lil rough but im learning to slide atm. One is sensored and the bigfoot is not.
Deck: Rocket hollow core deck
ESC: Dual Focbox (but lets be real im not that lucky)
Battery: 12s4p of 21700 Samsung 40T’s with a Neptune Smart BMS
Motors: Torqueboards Direct Drive 90KV
Wheels: Berg’s for light offroad use but mostly fast street
Hubs: Janux-Esk8 TB-DD CNC Aluminum 6" HUbs
Others: DAVEGA X (Of course), and a custom epoxy and skin by my dad, Sender
