Pothole caught it… I think it’s kinda sorta ok… I actually continued to ride it after this all weekend and just kept an eye on it and tried to avoid bumps. I’m hoping to make some repairs to it that are not ugly :rofl:

Choose one

I think you could definitely do something to fix it, but I wouldn’t count on it being strong enough AND look good

I would love to be wrong tho!!

I think if you laid some carbon fiber down - maybe 4 layers - on the top and bottom of the tip obv crossing the crack point by a wide margin (3 inches in both directions) you could reinforce it effectively. You’d have to use really wide custom washers on the screws too - maybe 3/4" diameter?

And done right it would look ok. But “done right” is a deep pool.

I have some of this really cool looking Kevlar as well as regular CF in stock I’m happy to get you enough to do the job.

Thank you everyone! I’m waiting on the board to make its way back and thinking about options. I appreciate all of you!

So first i don’t know dick about cf or reinforcements for a break like this so obviously when i saw this happen i came up with an opinion on how to fix it

This is what i was thinking, vac and clamp the break with some laminating epoxy to get it all sorta locked into place and keep as much of the surface finish that isn’t damaged in good shape.

Then route shallow (1/16” to 1/8” at the break) channels top and bottom, was thinking 2 inside and two outside the bolt holes just short of the tip and feather to flush before curve down. Then repeat in the underside. Add roving to the channels and have the ends of the roving flatten and spread out flat beyond the ends of the channels. This is just how i was thinking to use the cf in tension top and bottom to add the strength back to the break.

Kinda like this but maybe do the tail at the same time to keep the symmetry? Not sure.

Then get something like this: 230gsm Aramid Carbon Fiber Blended Fabric Mixed Carbon Cloth Purple with Black | eBay?

But i like this one better because darker and shinier idk

3K Carbon Fiber & Metallic Purple Reflection Mixed Cloth Twill Weave 100*50cm | eBay?

Two layers of triaxial top and bottom, stopping one layer at the first curve down and the second at the curve back up, then the top layer and shiny under the foot placement. I think this wood (ha!) keep the chocolate center :kissing_heart: but add some clean flavor to the tips.

Also have you seen this maniac standing on the tip of the board while riding? Gotta get some beef back in the break to support this insanity

All just my amateur opinion based on what i think i could do. I do like that dark cf with the purple bits

I might have a vacuum bag big enough to fit that Bod in.

In which case you could CF the whole top in @Pecos’s purple which would probably get you straight into Valhalla.

Then CF the bottom in black… Either just the tips or the whole thing depending on your CF mojo.

Though I bet you could find an intact DadBod out there and re-unicorn it. But you’d need to reinforce that one too against, you know, you

You could do the exact same repair with fiberglass instead of cf, and it would let the deck continue to shine
