I wanted the battery to be easily accessed, so I built it so that I could easily take it apart.
This build has been through a couple of iterations. I was having range anxiety when my first build would only get me 28 miles of range, so I decided to build a behemoth battery and find a deck and enclosure to fit it. The Lacroix Supersport blem decks were listed for $450 at the time on their website, so I ordered one. Lacroix’s customer service was awesome and they shipped it out, just in time just before they went belly up.
Initially it was built as a 4wd. See pic below
Even though initially this was the ultimate beast build, It was not practical in a real world setting. It weighed a whopping 94lbs and was too heavy and difficult to ride in a group setting, especially when you had to pick it up consistently and adjust position in tight corners riding around Boston. Also, because it was 4wd, it had almost no free spin and I would have to consistently use the throttle to ride it.
It nows weighs a modest 66lbs. I’ve ridden the current 2wd version at 35mph and it had much more to give. so if you like speed, there is plenty.
Trucks are awesome and steady at high speeds. I never encountered wobbles while riding her.
I have to thin my herd and Geronimo makes the cut. hopefully, someone will be able to ride her like she deserves. Please DM me if interested in adding “Geronimo” to your fleet.
P.S. - I called her “Geri” for short
P.P.S. - At this point, I am not entertaining price drops as I am not desperate to sell her.
Thanks All,
Alan
