[FR] Faulty DieBieMS with all accesories.
I have a love hate relationship with diebies it seems. i want to love them and everytime i do they just doesn’t love me back. I bought this NEW from @Brad, it arrived faulty, i spent 90 euro (I got zero compensation from Brad btw ) of repairs on it ( i know… but the time spent to find the issues were enormous. about 6h of trouble shooting and thankfully i didn’t pay all that labour because otherwise we were looking at a 200euro repair…) this issue consisted of bleeding cell group 2 rapidly when turned on. This was Fixed. To be clear, these issues were not from riding but from factory/assembly errors.
The following issues were
- 3v regulator was super dead (wtf… i know…)
- The series resistor on the power inlet to the buck converter was 1M instead of 15R
- Missing resistor (pic below.)
So in the end all these parts were replaced
So what’s wrong with it now?
That’s up to the buyer to find out
Just kidding… well partially.
CanBus won’t communicate with the vescs/vesc tool and the USB port won’t function…
And before you say it’s an easy fix, I’ve tried:
Downloading drivers (I tried all of them 1 by 1)
Redownload diebie tool
Restarted computer.
Changed USB cable 4 times (all of them had data, not just the charging)
Nothing worked
Soooooooooo
@linus and @Murloc992 reckons it’s the the usb tranciever (FTDI)
From what i understand, a relatively easy and cheap fix but i personally have had enough of BMS’s in general and I’m joining the @glyphiks gang #fuckbms
60euro plus shipping
It comes with a 3ds heatsink which is worth 50euro shipped on it’s own soooo…
Also comes with all accessories and a new clear heat-shrink to protect it after it’s been fixed.
I can also include anything you need like connectors, wires etc…
Any questions? just ask.
I know some of you are thinking ‘‘Why are you selling a faulty piece of equipment?’’
Well it’s been fixed for the most crucial components just a few months ago, i haven’t been riding for 83 days so the diebie has seen few milages (less than 100km) . And Those who want or need a diebiems because of all it’s fancy functions like roll to start, built in antispark switch, cell monitoring via Metr, etc… will have trouble finding one. There is a group buy going on but that’s far from meeting the MOQ. Anyway, the diebie is worth more than 60euro just in parts anyway, especially with the heatsink, i think it’s a good deal, even if you spend 30euro in repairs.
Cheers! Sorry for the long read, it’s the type of post where the buyer needs to know EVERY detail, for the sake of transparency.
That’s just hot glue because I made a slit in the heat shrink to measure the resistor with a multimeter
