WTB [US] working VESC

I’m looking for a decent and working dual vesc for my second board that has a 10s3p or 4p battery so any basic vesc should work. I don’t do any crazy builds with high voltages so I don’t need anything heavy duty; I just need a reliable vesc.

Edit: I prefer one with a usbc port and not micro usb because I only have short micro usb cables. Unless you have a long one you want to include with it.

I’m open to buying new if anyone has links to good vescs that are cheap and available. I prefer used to save money and to know that the part is working

The flipsky vesc I bought used forever ago and haven’t used until now turned out to not work. A compenent popped and killed itself while trying to configure it. I didn’t even get to check it with the vesc tool. I can’t tell which component died and don’t really want to bother with it when something else will likely blow anyway.

All of them are reliable if you type in low enough numbers.

Makerx Dv4s if you want to buy new and don’t need the power. If you want to upgrade down the line Dv6s is good.

I can’t type in all 0s if it blows before being connected to my pc

Unless it’s a spintend and then spontaneous excitement is possible.. I still have a moment of shitting myself every time I hit detect thanks to a Spintend flame out

The flipsky did scare the shit out of me when it blew due to how loud it was. Im just glad one of the huge capacitors didn’t blow. I think one of the larger flat capactitors blew.

We have two new budget dual controllers, the VESC Labs duet xs 60V and 100V variants, releasing in a couple weeks for around 200 euro. All our testing shows it to be very reliable. The VESC Duet is probably overkill based on what you list here but it would of course work so I think this new 60V ESC might be a perfect fit.

I know it might be a shot in the dark but if anyone has an old focbox unity I’d love to get one. the one on my main board has worked flawlessly for me. I do need or want anything fancy and new; I just want something that works.

My budget for parts is lower than it used to be due to moving to a more expensive apartment. Blame my cat for that because he is responsible for it

Edit: the cat who made me move to keep him:

He is the left cat

I got him a sister because he would get sad that my dog wouldn’t play with him and he kept taking that out on my feet while I was on the toilet

They all love each other I swear

Another update: I still need a new vesc but it has been put on my to buy list thanks to needing a new battery :upside_down_face:

If someone has one they don’t want for cheap Im still interested but my budget is super low now. I owe family ~$600 because I Couldn’t use my credit options to buy a new pack.

On the plus side I could get Away with never paying them back :smiling_face_with_horns: but i do plan to pay them back
