[WTB] [US] Battery around 1kWh

I’m looking for a battery around 1kWh in capacity that can fit underneath a longboard, approximate measurements two 18650 cells high (36mm) by two cells wide (130mm), length can vary based on total pack capacity. It should have a smart BMS and not need an external BMS for charging. Ideally 13s 48v, but lower is fine. It’s even better if you have a hard shell case as well.

Price target is around $300 shipped. Located in Texas, USA…

@xsynatic

$300 for 1kWh is a pretty good stretch

$300 /(1000 Watt hours / 10Watts hours per cell) leaves about $3.3 per cell… What’s cheaper than any cell I know of and does nothing for actual labor which is substantial.

1000 watt hours is about a 90cell battery. Or about a 6-7 p battery. Not sure what the going rate is. But I’m guessing something like double the offer here.

ya that’s what i’m guessing

iirc a decwnt 12s4p goes for just under $500 or so?
pricing can vary with cell choice, but i wouldn’t expect it to drop below $400 at the very low.

$300 SHIPPED for 1Kw?

Maybe like a used Tiller pack lmao.

Welcome to the community.

Are you planning on using this pack in any environment where it’s subjected to heavy vibrations (like a longboard) or store it inside a home while not in use?

Using in a longboard

I don’t think any 1kWh battery is going to be safely usable in a longboard for $300 shipped.

I would either lower your expectations or increase the budget.

Thanks. I was going based on a pack I saw on Aliexpress, which of course aren’t the best since they’re from China. Here’s what I was looking at:

Two of these packs are just about 1 kWh.

For one, they aren’t actually anywhere close to 1kwh. I had one that only delivered about 300wh on a friend’s bike. Secondly, those batteries can only output like 20 amps, and are huge.

Watts are abbreviated “W” so a kilowatt·hour is “kWh”

under $300 total

What motor controller do you plan to use?

An FSESC 7550, which I already have

I usually always draw under 20 amps, I ride less than 20mph

@TheRef got a realistic price estimate for all us non-battery-building dummies?

Also @hummieee has hella A123’s, if you don’t mind the pack being fucking huge.

but have a lot of pluses: super cheap, charge at rocket speed, can’t blow ur house up, last forever

kWh is like 120$

The sag hits different on lifepos, too. It’s like, first 20% you got some bonus torque, then it steadies out til about 15%.
