Also, larger motors do NOT give you more torque. Larger motors will give you more headroom to turn your ESC settings up, but you’re most likely limited by battery.

Today It was suggested to me that people who upgrade just their motors to larger motors get more torque with the same motor amp settings. backed up with experiences of both bikes and esk8s doing this and feeling more torque. My understanding is that motor torque is proportional to motor amps x Kt. (torque/amp) and that Kt is inverse of Kv. (it’s 1/Kv) so a larger motor of the same kv maybe able to handle more motor amps, but with the same motor current it’s torque should be the same. A…

Any idea of a VESC setting to get more low down torque from my existing motors? It has ridiculous power at 20+ mph but below that and especially from a standstill it’s horrendous

turn up the motor current (+25%) and down the battery current (-20%)

So I’ve been trying to sort out what battery current vs motor current means… in my mind they should never be different (ignoring the fact that motor current is x2)

If my motor amps are 60a… so 120a out of the battery, how the heck can my battery amps be set to 85 and everything still be fine (I’ve tried battery amps at 60,85,120,140 with no noticeable changes)

I also would like to pump my motor amps up but I think 65/70 is their limit so I wouldn’t be able to do much (I guess this is where 6374 motors would come in handy)

Battery Amps, Motor Amps and Duty Cycle... Please Explain

I am very slowly getting my head around alot of the knowledge required to successfully plan and execute a build… but this is one thing I don’t really understand. How do motor amps work in relation to battery amps?

Instead of going up, go down. If the battery current is higher than motor current then there is nothing being changed.
