i think your logic has merit. I wouldn’t go back in to swap it unless I was in there for another reason. well except I’m going to to actually test if it improves things. it might also be a higher heat transfer rate than the orig… since I have no idea what that was.
this stuff it’s for memory sticks. i the right thickness and width. I cut it to length. one stick did both focboxes with maybe enough for one more.
Funny but I didn’t even think I liked money clips.

When tidying up the OG VESC 6s I bought the thermal pad was super brittle and easily removable… If your pads arent like this youre probably fine, especially since youre not switching the pieces being cooled. You’ll definitely be able to know when they need replacing.
Plus you can use the extra for when your laptops thermal paste needs replacing 
(My laptop is still going strong with it after 5/6 months)
