If you can find white, you can dye them black easily!
I run mine with no spacers and have not had any issue in 5+ years

Yup fine as long as they are not beaten up. Some pictures would be awesome
Actually i do have white but that dye is nit available where I live. If you remember you got some of those bottles for me and was able to sent them to me a long time ago
