Will I miss this chunk of the magnet?

  • It might kill ya…
  • Nah bro. You good.

So yep. Hit a huge rock with my super low motors.
Good news is that I did not fall.
Bad news is I had to call the wife to come get me. She loves that…

So right where the rock hit the magnet broke.

I am thinking cover that hole with even more epoxy and keep on keeping on.

What y’all think?

After taking the chunks out it still sounds rough at low speeds. But sounds fine at high speeds…

Battle hardening looks like it did its job well!

If I were you I’d keep riding it for science. After applying epoxy to fill in the hole as you suggested.

Nah bro, you good. As long as it doesn’t whack the stator when turning it’s fine.

Might slightly negatively impact performance though.

Yeah like the people above said, you should ride it till it dies. Maybe start saving up for a replacement

Can’t see the point of filling the hole with epoxy.

If you’ve removed all the loose parts and magnets still seem to be held in place I’d leave it as is and start thinking about getting a new motor/can.

With a hit like that you might run into future motor failure with magnets coming loose. It’ll be interesting to see how the battle hardening will affect any possible weakening though. If you keep running with this, keep us updated on how it holds up.

I’m going to fill with epoxy mainly because I’m not 100% sure I got all little chunks out.
And maybe to keep more chunks from coming loose.
Plus it is really not much trouble since I already have it all apart…
