I skate where the men skate and the sheep are scared
Just to make you jelly
There are ~3 miles of this once I get on the main road from my house straight downtown.
It get skinnier in town but still pretty wide. Itās why we have so many homeless people. Lots of room on the sidewalk.
Jk drugs and high rent.
Motherfuckin. Urban planning.
No jelly. Urban planning sucks the soul out of cities! I like rickety old piece of shit sidewalks and canted buildings.
The bikers in my town are crazy and think they own the place. I find the street is usally the safest. Thereās plenty of room, best quality tarmac and the cars usually think you look in insane so they mostly slow down when then they see you
We have a Castle but it was built in 1892 not 1337 like yours.
My part of town was developed in the 1960ās. Pretty interesting time for city design if a not little bland. Efficient at least.
Saw a documentary, I think that the empty streets of Pyongyang would be really cool to skate. No cars to be seen. Wouldnāt live there tho, nope.
What city are you in?
Olympia Washington.
I live by Evergreen State College if youāve heard of it
Can you imagine the mindblow the North Koreanās would have seeing someone cruising on a esk8.
They would think you were magical.
It would be awesome to learn someday that there is/was a small skater culture in N.K. Not sure why Iām assuming it would have to be an underground thing. I feel like skateboarding would probably get you sent to a camp to die. Skateboarding = American thing in their eyes maybe
Yes I have I had a buddy graduate there. I thought you lived in Tacoma for some reason.
Yeah I hope they wonāt mind my (future) mountain board tearing up the trails to the beach. Iāve been here longer than the students though so the trails are mine dammit.
Iām really looking forward to being able to ride anywhere there. Some of the trails are pretty rough and steep I think it will be very fun to conquer as much of the nearby forest as I can before I move away.
Have you ever seen the intense South Korean trampa style builds? I seent them once on IG.
I seen too many damn builds to even know
Probably ynos
Not everywhere in the UK sucks for skating, the following path is a 10 mile+ bridal way, no cars, and takes me straight from where I live to where I work.
All of us PNW guys should meet up sometime next year for a group ride or something. It would be nice to actually ride with other people.
Oh yeah I do like the dedicated bike paths roads in European countries that actually lead somewhere useful. Weāre too utilitarian to make separate roads for the stupid bikers. Buy a car you hippie etc etc.
Huh just noticed that is not a train but a bus on a very interesting road.
Also are states are larger then most countries in Europe we are way more spread out.
That is what we called a āguided busā. A bus that can be both a bus and a train. Itās absurdly expensive and rediculous.
Iām certainly glad I have a good balance of not being in a urban center but not anywhere rural.
Some places are really bad bike lane and sidewalk wise and some are spectacular. We donāt have to worry too much, itās not like we have to push though it.
Weāre looking to host PDX-Electric Festival (potentially with Hoyt involved) next summer for all the PNWers + more!
Maryhill Loops, Columbia Gorge Trail, + hundreds of miles on bike trails/paths around Portland.
Itās one of the most skate friendly cities in the US. You can skate anywhere, everywhere.
