The question is valid. I’m not metallurgist and not a qualified welder.. I’m not a good welders sweaty apmpit. I’d only be comfortable welding something for my own personal use.. I’d probably not ride one with backyard welded.components unless I KNEW there was some sort of load testing and NDT weld testing. I fully expect to weld up some trike components for myself.
I absolutely also think that not doing testing or having components made from.. you know decent material and not mild steel.. is risky and potentially life threatening as is proven here

A few of those welds in there are concerning to my untrained eye just from the amount of material bite in the weld.
