Was on my way to school going abt 26mph ish when my back left wheel hit a manhole cover. After impact, my motor instantly made a ERRRR noise and my throttle was unresponsive. I pulled to the side of the road to check and saw a tiny bit of smoke coming from the left motor and it sounded like some metal piece was tapping around in the motor bell. In addition to that, there was a rhythmic clicking coming from the motor too. When I tried to ride, the throttle was jerking a lot. So I turned the board off and on again and it was fine!
My theory is that either, somehow, a metal piece got into the motor and shorted it, and was subsequently burnt up(hence the smoke) or metal shaving(which happed to be in my motors from prior circumstances) shorted the motor. It’s important to note these motors are 2 years old, beat to all hell, with fried sensors, and full of rocks and shavings.
What do u think happed?
Might’ve shattered a magnet, which means the motor is toast.
Depending on the motor, you might be able to pull the bell off and confirm this

Ooooo sounds bad. Tbh, I kept running the board for the rest of the day and it seemed fine. Prly gonna swap the motors as soon as a I have enough dough.

Just know you run a risk of blowing your esc.
Bad motors are probably the#1 killer of escs
