VX4 single-trigger project

I saw that someone else had made a single trigger remote from the Flipsky VX4. I love single-trigger remotes and figured that I’d give making one from the VX4 a shot. Fortunately, it lends itself to being reconfigured. Here’s what I have so far. I’ve included the Fusion file for anyone that would like to manipulate it, as well as the .stl for anyone who just wants to print it and try it out.

VX4singletriggerv2.f3d (612.9 KB)

VX4modelv2.stl (730.4 KB)

I’m using half of the existing remote design because the buttons and screen–protector are integrated and it really simplifies the project. For now, the top of the remote has to be hot-glued into position because the clips that secure it are a pain in the ass to replicate and place.

I just revised the models. They needed a little work.

Do you have a CAD model of the vx4 guts to share?

Unfortunately, no I don’t. I just did a bunch of trial and error to get it to fit.

@tomiboi have you been using this? Does it work ok?

I haven’t been able to put it to use because I need a stronger spring for it. The trigger is way too flimsy.

If you try it out and the model needs revising, let me know. I’ll crank it out.

Could the trigger go into just the VX4 Pro in its regular shell?

I’m wondering if I could just add the trigger. Keep the regular shell and add some sort of handle to the shell.

Do you think like that would work? And would the spring be an issue.

That might work. It would take some tinkering. The spring would still be an issue. The trigger has a longer lever-arm. That increases the force being acted on the spring resulting in flimsiness. Or at least I think that’s how it works. It’s been a while since I took physics.
