VX4 remote to go-foc D100S from

Hi,

Been having this issue recently where I can’t seem to figure out why I can’t pair my Flipsky DX4 remote (not the pro one) to my new D100S from MakerX.

Tried it with the Bluetooth that came with the romete, nothing, tried it with the Bluetooth that I bought with the ESC, nothing again…can’t seem to figure out what to do here :frowning:

Is there something that must be done in Vesc tool? like forcing the ESC in pairing

mode? As for settings, the remote and ESC are both in UART mode and that should be ok. Chat GPT told me that you can’t pair these to devices and that I should by the wand from Trampa and I’m hopping these wrong :)))

Put remote in pairing mode then turn on the esc/receiver.

Make sure it is not in FTESC mode of it still does not work after pairing. this setting is on the remote menu not vesc tool.

I have the same remote and esc setup. I am using UART for connection. I wasn’t getting a response at first too. My issue was in the vesc settings. If I remember correctly it was the control type setting. This might not be your issue, but you can check whether you are set to current control in the control type/mode menu.

ESC Type on the remote is FSESC and control Type is UART

in VESC App data I have the following set up

Tried now again with the whole setup for the motors as well, and put the remote in pairing mode with the board powered off, powered the board, it prompted for 2 sec saying “pairing success” and went to the normal menu, of the remote where you have telemetry and all, but it still does not show the board paired and nothing happens when I accelerate:( for reference I’m using the Bluetooth dongle the remote cam with but for another ESC from Flipsky, is this because maybe it was set up for that ESC and now it does not work with anything else? I’m saying this because I saw other remotes having a small receiver as well while this one does not…

Go to VESC Remote under app settings and change the control type setting to current. Write app and u should be good

I did this, to the Local and Can, and it seems that it still does not want to work

however after it flashes that the paring is a success. I push the trhotel and nothing happens, I close the board and the remote vibrates, that same vibrating it would give if it woul’ve paired and you would shut down the board with the remote still on…wierd…
I keep getting a notification that the version is old, should I update?

That notification is normal. Everyone gets it lol

No its better to not update! GoFoc likes to stay on whatever it was shipped out with.

If you are paired to the reciever and the control settings are saved on current and its not responding then you can try switching up tx-rx rx-tx on the wire harness from receiver to ESC.

Use a precision flat head or something really thin to carefully lift up the plastic tap and pull out the jst connecters on the ESC side. It looks like your green and orange wires.

Good to know un the update side of things :call_me_hand:

So basically all I need to do is flip these 2 wires between them? geen into orange place and vice versa?

I think I saw RB E-Motion having the same issue in his video of the DV6 set up but did not think that was was the case here as well :frowning: , now that you mention it this might be it…

Thank you for pointing that out, will be doing that soon :call_me_hand:

Yes. My Z.mote came the same and had to swap them for it to work properly.

The single issue I’m still facing at the moment is that the brake cuts off when I’m close to stopping, so not when I’m with speed, the breaks works then, no hic-up, but sometimes when I have like 2 m to a dead stop it just cuts out, any setiign that should be done to avoid this from hapaning and maybe make the break even stronger? for reference I think I have a 10S battery, I mean I set it up with 10S and seems ok
