so, that means the display signal is the signal which is send from the remote and not the signal which is displayed in the vesc tool if you switch on live app data? ![]()
Ok, good. Non the less would feel strange, nothing change there.

It also does happen on the board Frank. Like I say it seems to go away after 10 or so cycles.
I’ve sent you a message with further findings
How was your ride?
Ride was good, lovely weather for it. I dont like the trigger Frank, I have to be honest. Too much throw and the carbon fibre trigger is too light and woolly. Because of the throw I wasnt actually able to apply full brakes and trigger the smart reverse. Some changes to deadband probably required from stock settings but I went to do it on the mobile VESC tool and because there is a latest version I couldnt make the changes. Will wait for next firmware then update and try again
A CF enclosure is not a box, it has no CF lid. Unless you are saying that Canadian Maple is blocking the signal?
Either way that same setup doesn’t have disconnect issues with the nano remote. I would feel a lot better if @Trampa was open to considering these reported disconnect issues. There is more than one already.
Well, you must find out if anything is blocking your radio signal. Decks are sometimes CF reinforced, CF enclosures are blocking etc. As far as I know, the LaCroix deck has layers of CF and a CF battery box.
There is also your foot and the battery etc.
It is easy to find out if you have a signal blocking issue or a bad signal in general: Simply install the dongle outside and see if the problem still exists. We have a compartment for our receivers, which sits outside of the enclosure. There is nothing blocking the signal.
All I’m saying is that in the above examples multiple people using different remotes do not have connection issues, but they have connection issues with the wand where the wand receiver is in the same location as the previous receiver. I realize correlation doesn’t equal causation in every instance, in this case it might be a worthy goal to look into it.
It’s a good point but the transmitter being in a metal enclosure is not a problem in this case (unless it’s a dodgy one). I’m going to film a video this weekend showing the range on it, for me it’s no issue to go even 15 meters away from the board. So all things being equal it should be the way the receiver is mounted. Is it under phase and/or power wires with respect to the remote @gmurad?
Couldn’t make that more gun like if you tried. Wonder who will be the first person to get shot holding this.
Literally No One: …
USA: Insta headshot whenever someone has something which looks like gun in the hands…

The entire bottom of the Wand is non blocking material. The transmitter sits 1mm away from the outer surface of the non blocking cover. The Wand is no cage for radio signals.
and yet…
Just put in my order today
So… will flip wand cause losing signal?
but the metal and carbon shell feels so good
Just a response to @Trampa and @Lee_Wright. I am not trying to attack the wand, I am really hoping to get it working well where I can trust it. I plan on making an extension cable and testing it outside of the enclosure. The reason I shared my experience is because this is a platform to share ideas and help each other. It benefits everyone to share any issues they are having with ESK8 tech, this is how problems get identified and fixed. I will definitely report back on the performance after relocating the dongle. Thanks
Your good mate, that’s what we want. Sometimes people get defensive, but these are issues that needed to be resolved.
Is it just me or are the responses we get from our feedbacks seemed a little snappy? I don’t get it. It’s all about getting it resolved.
