VESC WAND REMOTE soon to arrive from the future

UI is starting to look very polished, my only criticism is the spinning logo at the beginning. It looks cheep and tacky and doesn’t fit with the rest of the product and UI design.

We laid foundations to animate stuff and in consequence Benjamin coded a software coding the graphics code. We now have a Display Tool allowing to import graphics into the WAND.
We can overlay the graphics and animate them and make them transparent etc.

We just started with the magic…
The Wand will progress over time!

Waaaat? I ordered day one, I did get an email saying they’d been packaged and shipped but still no tracking number :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Can we all just say well done to them for the first company who (nearly) got the shipping time on time and kept to all there promises unlike some other people

Enertion cough cough

Same. Sometimes I’d rather buy from trampa than most US vendors because they are faster even if i live in California.

@Trampa

Is it necessary to plug nrf dongle to swd? You only connect the swd if you plan on updating, correct?

2 of my friends have the old single focbox. I would need to open them up and solder a port in order to connect the swd cable. However, I have 2 orig trampa vesc6. Should I just use my vescs to update the dongle and not connect the swd part of the dongle to the focboxes?

I had a dongle I had bought before the wand released and I indeed had to do the upgrade. I also use focbox. I ended up grabbing a VESC6 from my a build I’m doing and using that.

You only need the SWD cable to do the upgrade. You should not drive your motors with the SWD cable in. Once it’s done there is no need for the cable so take it out and you are left with just the com cable. I hope that was the only upgrade needed with the SWD and all the following ones will be delivered by the mobile tool can you confirm @Trampa?

Also note you can use the 7 pin com JST in the 8 pin trampa JST socket, just make sure the wires correspond.

That’s what I thought. Instructions made it sound like it needs to be installed all the time. I’ll re-read it again. Big kids stuff now. Work

I just tried to update. It gave me write error then reboot timed out.

  • Turn VESC on
  • Connect dongle to swd
  • Connect dongle to uart
  • Autoconnect
  • SWD program
  • Click connect (not connect NTF5x)
  • Select trampa BLE
  • Click erase and upload

I ordered the nrf dongles w the wands. Could it be that these are already updated or am I doing something wrong?

If they pair, they are up to date. We updated them all many months back.
If you bought it after March, it should be up to date.

However, the update should still work though.
You need to make sure it displays TARGET: NRF51xx after you pressed “connect”

Please check if the dongle allows a connection to your phone/tablet.
If that is the case, plug in SWD in addition and go to the SWD Prog tab and try again.

I love UPS 8 AM here…

I’ll wait for the Fleshlight. Then I will buy that thing. Paypal would be an option @Trampa
