VESC not braking on high speed

Hi Everyone,

Got something with my board.
Its not braking on medium-to high speeds.

In this video(first 20s) im going full throttle and then braking on full throttle.
I have 30A forward and 30A braking.
As you can see in video, its not giving 30A on braking on mid-high speed - only gives 30A when im moving slowly, but throttle All this time if full on braking. Its just sloooooowly deaccelerating.

i

Yes, i have 6A regen on battery (as i have 2p Molicel p42a) and really don’t want to go further(even if ill go 9A it still wont help) and maybe this is limit factor

Anyone has any ideas why i have such behavior? Is there a way to make proper brakes without increasing regen braking? i dont want to stress battery with it

I have tenka ESC and foxbox UI app. For some reason im struggling to update firmware so vesc tool and Bluetooth module would work fine and not in limited mode. But focbox version of vesc tool works fine so i choose not to bother. Im pretty sure reason i have braking problem not in focbox version of vesc tool but in settings itself

Motor amps: 30A each
Battery amps: 60A
Braking 30A each
Battery regen 6A

Other settings is standard except erpm - i limited to 80k
Thanks in advance

that’s ur problem

battery regen = high speed braking
motor regen = low speed braking

if u want better high speed brake, go more negative on the battery regen number, the huge amp is just a pulse for the p42a, it doesn’t hurt the cell that much

there is no need to do that, reset it back to default

Thanks a lot! Ill do so and will check again
What is your suggestion on battery regen for 12s2p p42a would be?

start with -15a and adjust if u feel its not strong enough or too weak

more towards negative = more braking power
more towards positive = weaker braking power

this only applys to regen parameter, don’t set negative value in other place
