beat me to it @taz!!!
I am the Lucky Luke of the vesc app.
is this total or per VESC. it was my understanding that the Unity is total even in the VESC tool to be clear this number should be 22.5V not 45V.
This is per vesc so this number should be 22.5A if you have 2 vescs and want to draw up to 45A total from your battery.
I have one Unity…is the Unity considered one VESC or two?
The unity is considered as 2 vescs.
thx…changing the values… test ride tmr to see how it goes…thx again.
No worries. Be safe.
yeah @drone001 forget everything you thought you knew when you left the land of Oz (unity FW) and move to VESC…
i know… it’s weird… a dual ESC from one MPU acting like two VESCs… but it’s a cold cruel reality!
Well, you have two distinct output power stages so in my mind it feels more normal.
The old unity app freaked me out. Especially the gear ratio calculation method.
got it…i went with the default motor settings…they were like 43A per motor. that is confusing
Hey wait, sure Motor settings is per side, but it’s my understanding that Battery settings is total, that you have to replicate for “both” VESC IDs. @Deodand
I unfortunately am tuned more to the Unity frame of reference…
by brain things like Unity app did… make perfect sense to me…
unfortunately, it’s a deadend-path… I wonder what Stormcore FW will bring?
i already know… sigh
The default motor setting is just a suggestion as it calculates the current that would produce a certain amount of heat loss power.
You can go lower or higher depending on many other factors such as outside temperature etc.
Nope. Battery amps are per vesc.
Depends if you go “D” or “S”.
well no shit sherlock… now how do I spell
duh?
i plan to grab a 60D gonna be interesting to see…
I’m going to give it a year and see…
my next motor controller will likely be a MambaXL…
i have enuff boxesOfFoc’s and a spare unity or two I’ll be fine for a year or so…
I’ve bled enuff being on the tech edge…
I’m looking at mega ebike hubs to make fit in a DIY funwheel…
