But wasn’t ASS present in MKIV already? Or am I thinking of the HD60?

I think that was the HD60, but I don’t follow Trampa products too closely, to spendy for me lol

can’t find the post now, but i remember ASS being a software thing, there wasn’t a specfic hardware required to get the ASS working, just the mk5 and hd60t being the first two being “officially” supported

wasn’t that just the esc had to be bulit base on v6? or am i missing something else

yes, you are missing something else.

ASS needs switchable phase filter hardware that is not standard on vesc 6 hardware.

so the mk5 is able to use ASS purely because trampa planned it ahead when they designed the mk5?

i thought ASS is just software side, and it was planned to take over HFI at some point :eyes:

yes.

again, no. ASS needs special hardware. This why currently no other ESC support it.
