Updating very old vesc

I recently bought an old leaf board to repair. To my surprise the controller is vesc based. The vesc tool reads it and says the firmware is to old. It’s showing fw 2.18.

It’s it possible to update the firmware and if so what firmware would I update to?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

iirc there are stable versions of the VESC tool like 2,3

Thanks, managed to get it updated. I think there is something blown. I got this after motor detection. Any idea what to look for next?

I have also struggled with this… I’m pretty sure I have every version of VT on my computer. I am happy that I don’t use really any of them anymore as I am in a beta that makes things super easy. It’s coming soon.

Since each build of the VESC Tool is compatible with only a few particular versions of the VESC Firmware, every now and then we find ourselves searching around for a place to download a precompiled executable of one of the older versions. When faced with this situation you either have to find it by googling, ask around on the forum, or download the source code and compile it yourself.
