Hi, does anyone have experience or thoughts on the Tronic X12 or similar high-voltage controllers?
I can barely find any information when searching on Google. Maybe this isn’t the best place to ask, as I think such controllers are rarely needed for skateboards, but I’m not sure where else to ask.
3shul controllers are decent high power VESCs. Here is one on the forum Giant Vesc for sale. 3shul cl700 v4 - #2 by Soflo.
Also the Tronic 250R which looks epic but apparently has heat issues and being meant for one wheels doesn’t give me confidence.
As someone who has now built 3 vesc powered ebikes, run the other way (unless it’s mid drive, then you’ll prob be ok)
vesc is completely disfunctional with ebike sized hub motors, large and small. 350W geared hub? fucked. 1500W direct drive? fucked. 3000W direct drive? fucked. 3 different architecture escs on each one too. cant find any obvious problem and I spent hours trying to fix it. I have a barely functional ebike now that goes like 60% of its actual top speed with thermal issues.
Can you share more about your experience? What controllers are you using?
I’ve read about some problems with VESCs on e-bikes, but from what I’ve seen, most of the issues have been resolved with software tweaks. For example, like here:
I have few low speed issues. I was able to fix all of them anyways. My issues all lie at high speed. Motor duty cycle becomes unstable and the motor starts vibrating
