I like the new box.
How are the plugs for the phase wires fixed to the box?

Going to epoxy them in after running the wires and seal the outside base with a thin line if silicone.

Sounds like a plan :ok_hand:

Looks like one of my bullet connectors burned up. Wonder how that happened. Don’t really want to replace it because it’s such a short wire so I’ll try grinding the rough gunk down a bit. If I have to, oh well.

Forgot I used an xt60 for power instead of a grommet which means I can’t route the DavegaX UART through along with the power leads so I gotta make a hole for that now.

Got a tiny bit of epoxy in my hair, took a shower asap and seem to have got it out.

What are you using for the VESC case? Did you print that yourself? I’m looking at VESC mount options for my MBS DW II

You can get a electrical junction box from a hardware store or something and use that…I know @Venom121212 will be happy to praise that option

Polycase, they gots boxes

This is what you get for using small bullet connectors I suppose. I prefer 5mm bullets but the cheap motors I got use 4mm bananas.

Im out of 5mm ones so another 4mm  is going on it.

I replace them or glue them. I killed a vesc because of one these banana connectors once. I wonder why so many use them. They disconnect very easily with vibrations, and then the male connector surface can grind other cable insulation and create shorts.

I had the same issue with motor cable disconnected and fried DRV due to going back and forth on Turnigy SK8 motors.

What i did was try to make the cable get as low load as possible during bending the truck. Then I put on capton tape around each one and then capton arround them all. After that shrink tube and then net-tube.

Worked after that for 5000 km then the motor it self gave up.

Left one is new and right has about 7000 km on it and still working.

Recall @seaborder diy option to hold bullet connectors together.
A drop of loctite into the female connector works like magic :ok_hand:

Upgrade 95% done. Missing stickers and cable sheath (what I have in stock is too small diameter for 2x 12awg) I am out of those fancy blue and grey MBS stickies :frowning:

A short ride through the dusty orchards proved it still runs as expected.

Fucked up a chain link again and couldn’t make it smooth so I replaced it only to notice the other older one was stretched much more than the fresh chain I had in storage so I ended up swapping both out. these 42 tooth wheel sprockets on 8" are just too close to the ground so they get banged up by rocks and curbs as I’ve said a million times.

The kinked, un-oiled chain raised my wh/mi by like 10 so It was in my best interest to fix or swap it and lube the drivetrain. It’s smooth and quiet now.

Broke a pin so I replaced it and cut them down as far as I could so they hit stuff less.

I also applied some epoxy inside and outside around the pin holes to prevent water ingress.
