Total Evolve Mod in under 5 minutes

I like it man great work!

@longhairedboy when you do a CarbonGT, how do you make the battery fit? Do you actually cut out some of the carbon? Or do you put a gasket under the lid?

the battery fits without altering the deck or rearranging anything provided its a 10s4p. Cells start at about an inch away from the front of the compartment, then there’s enough room to put the evolve bms between the cells and the ESC.

the pack has to be built in a particular way, but when it is, it practically snaps into the deck as snug as it gets. I have to remove the foam on the sides first and any two way tape or foam that’s in the bottom as well.

I think I’ve discovered the real reason Evolve used prismatic pouches. They designed their deck to hold cells with no thoughts about wire, fishpaper, or foam. The cells fit great – by themselves – but batteries are really, really tight.

I’d love to use more insulation and whatnot, especially in an electrically-conductive enclosure, but the space available limits that drastically.

And like you said, I have to leave a bunch of space in front of the battery, because the compartment is too shallow up there.

this is how im currently building the packs for CGT as well as BGT and GTX.

no room on top for balance leads on top of cans so the go from top to edge between cans, welded twin pgroups because no space for copper between the cells left to right, copper jumpers between twin pgroups north and south, layer of kapton between everything. once wrapped in heat shrink it basically snaps into the freshly cleaned carbon gt battery cavity.

That’s similar to my work in progress, and the exact same way I discovered it would fit

See this is how I know that you , sir, are a genius.

But I would caution against using plaid patterns with Kapton. Everyone knows plaid is slower than stripes.

also some secret sauce. slight reshaping of the center four bolt posts will keep the enclosure from putting too much pressure on the wires down the side of the pack on the BGT and GTX

that was done with a disposable dremel cutting wheel and higher RPMs

Actually, plaid is faster than stripes, as proven to Barf and Lone Starr by Dark Helmet.

oh shit. I stand corrected.

where do you guys get that paper?

I get mine from Amazon. It’s not cheap though.

I get mine from 145ptags.com

The site looks like it was built in 2002 but it’s legit

I’d be down with ordering 100m if you want to split a large order.

Im in Croatia, so shipping to the us would be i guess quite pricy because its heavy, 150mm x1m is like 3-4$ standard price, if you ask for a quote for 100m im sure it would drop
