May or may not have made a few mistakes but hey, it’s together and we’ll see if those mistakes bite me in the ass🤣. Thing cooks, I took it for a short test ride and she’s got some balls.
Yeah I’m actually quite surprised at how much power and brakes 2wd has on 18s with the spine.
So hot!
A couple more build pics. The only thing I wish I would’ve done is make grooves for the batteries so they have more space. I have to press the belly pan down a bit to get it to fit. Other than that, the board did really well on my first small track session! I’m very excited to keep practicing.
The SKP team designed it and we had them printed out in vinyl! I did lucid grip on top of the vinyl. We’ll see how well it sticks. I might have to sand down the vinyl a hair to get it to stick if I’m have issues in the future.
The design and lucid grip combo looks fantastic. It’s surprising to me how much better the lucid grip is vs clear vicious, which looks like ass on pretty much everything
First little T-Race track sesh. Went pretty well! Solos got a lil warm but I might try to mount them better with a thermal pad so the pan absorbs some heat.
T Race is very harsh on electrics! I was getting thermal throttling on my motors yesterday hitting 100degrees. I used to have thermal issues on my DV6 pros but solved that with current design. My ESCs are staying nice and cool thanks to clever design from @Tasventouras . I have them mounted to an aluminium plate that is raised an inch off deck to allow airflow underneath. I’ve also got scoops on the lids with mesh at rear of box to get extra airflow passing inside the enclosure as well. It’s worked a treat and my D100s ESCs have not got close to thermal throttling yet.
Edit: 81 degrees on your Solos as max temp seems pretty good. It looks like they cool down quickly too.
