Good evening everyone! Let me introduce myself, my name is Vincenzo, I live in Italy and I am 25 years old. I have always had a passion for ek8s. I never started out of fear, but he’s been driving a G3 backfire for two years And I traveled 5000km. But now I would like to move on to something more important and above all more performing! My idea is to buy flipsky 6384 190kx2, flipsky dual vesc 6.6plus and create a battery pack with the Samsung 40t.For the battery pack I was thinking of a 12s8p configuration. I would like to make an esk8 with AT wheels Do you believe that with this material I would be able to have a speed of about 60kmh and a range of 60-80km?
Welcome!
At the top of the site there’s a link to a calculator you can use to figure these things out
You can definitely achieve the speed, just depends on gearing. As for the range – I think on AT wheels a 12s8p with 40T cells would get you 40-60km, depending on your weight, hills, riding style, etc.
I believe you’d need a 12P pack to get 60-80km, judging by the range the Flux motion board gets.
I think that range and speed expectation is totally doable if the settings are set conservatively and you’re not riding like an animal.
The Rocket build i did earlier this year holds a 12s8p P42A battery and the owner regularly does 70km+ rides.
The flispky isn’t amazingly reliable. If you can get another VESC I would recommend doing so.
Accetto tutti i consigli di questo mondo. Non so come muovermi. Sapresti indicarmi cosa comprare? Secondo l esigenza di avere una velocità di 60+kmh e un autonomia minima di 50km
Going by @Battery_Mooch recommendations, i like to consider the p42a as about safe for 25A continuous.
So a 12s8p P42A would be capable of 200A continuous.
The board I mentioned above, I’m pretty sure is capped at 100A continuous in total.
The advantage of using such highly capable cells is that you will see minimal battery sag, and the cells should live a long and happy life due to not being abused.
FOCBOX Unity vesc
or
Stormcore 60D vesc
or
Zenith vesc
are good options with a lot of knowledge/information already on the forum.
With regards to the speed and range, they effectively will be doing the same as the flispky - they are just more reliable, in the sense that flispky is known to randomly just die for no good reason, which sucks. Unity and Stormcore are also a lot easier to program on the fly and via Bluetooth, something I don’t think is as quick on the flispky.
As it’s been said above, you will have no issue reaching your desired speed as long as you use correct gearing on your motors and wheels, and I believe you will be able to easily get the 60km range on your 12s8p with properly inflated tires. 80km range would definitely be pushing things though, but you could come close if you were essentially cruising the entire time.
The Samsung 40T is a great battery as well - but if you are able to get Molicel P42A, they will be slightly better in power delivery and power capacity than the Samsung 40T. No big deal if you can only get or already have 40T though.
Somebody feel free to chime in if I’m steering him in the wrong direction about the flispky ESC - going off of a few years old info, not sure if they’ve made any big improvements in the past 18 months.
if you’re considering a focbox, just get a xenith instead.
I second the xenith. I like this guy. He speaks to my italian heritage. Good evening to you, as well, vincenzo! Let me know if you have any questions, im still a bit stupid but ill help if i can.
