The successor to Kegel core - Radium SR125 wheel system

Have looked into those ones but they don’t support 4PX who we’re using for shipping now. Will keep searching just busy busy with Mach One production this month.

Dunno if all European folk will be as lucky as I was but the 4PX shipping delivered the wheels directly to a parcel locker near my house. No import taxes, no fuss

That’s amazing haha. And didn’t take 84 years like Australia post!

Got my SR125s! Psyched.

Two issues though.

  1. I got two belt pulleys as well, but the included M4 14mm bolts wouldn’t tighten down all the way to secure the pulley.

It seems like the holes in the hub aren’t tapped deep enough (they are tapped ~8mm deep) or the bolts are too long.

Fortunately I have a hardware store in my bedroom, so I swapped them for some M4 10mm bolts. Not an issue for me, but might be worth looking into @Tony_Stark for orders from others

  1. I don’t think they’re compatible with my trucks because the axles are too short :frowning:

They’re 8mm diameter 35mm long axles. I knew I’d have to get weird 8mm ID 28mm OD bearings, but didn’t think about the axle length.

Admittedly, I should’ve checked this before ordering, but I’m more just disappointed because I was looking forward to riding em!

Is there any out of the box solution to this that anyone’s aware of? Or am I SOL?

You could do what your esk8 elders used to, and cut/grind/file away a length of hanger to expose more axle. It’s exactly as sketchy as it sounds. I dont recommend it.

That’s too DIY for kids these days!

Xcell sells an axle sleeve kit that converts 8mm short axles to extended 12mm axles. Its a lot cleaner of a solution than grinding down a truck lol.

Oo, sounds like exactly the overengineered solution that I’m looking for.

Having trouble finding them, do you have a link?

I’d be concerned more about extending track width on trucks like that than removing hanger and narrowing it…

Fair enough, I don’t disagree.

Perhaps “engineered” wasn’t the right term. More… “the COTS solution that I’m looking for”

Ah, found it. Thanks @Ac53n

While its probably okay, there is valid reason for concern with the extended track width of running these longer axles, so I’d make sure to thoroughly inspect your hangers for any cracks, fractures, or bends… those generic DKPs are normally cast trucks and not the most well QC’d haha.

Yeah, fantastic and valid point, thanks for mentioning it.

With the ridiculous stress (for 8mm axles) that I’ve put these trucks through over 1000’s of miles, I’ve got no worries about their strength. Plus most of this was on 6" tires, and the SR125s are ~1" smaller. But then again, SR125’s are also stiffer and will translate shock loads more directly to the axle. They’re also heavier.

Not too worried about it. :man_shrugging:
Worst case is I bend the trucks that are worth like $20 max

Neato. Also, you may need to buy two sets of the xcell spacers so you can have four of the front ones, depends on how your stock axle setup is. For references, heres how my setup looked on an eovan from years ago.

Not bad for 8mm axles haha
