The Step Bro - A Largely 3d Printed Build - COMPLETE!

I think this is one of my votes for BOTY Al. This thing is nuts and the amount of planning and sheer will is sick asf. Good shit dude.

Thanks mate! The whole process was basically an amalgamation of different ideas I’ve had over the years and a dedication to getting a little better at CAD.

To be honest, I’m quite surprised at how well it came together and how well it operates!

Definitely looking forward to getting a Megan on it tho. Having issues losing bluetooth connection with the in built metr and losing logs because of it.

That’s no fun, are you talking about the built in BT module into the solos or something else?

Yeah the solo metr.

It could also be a phone issue. Either way, the reliance on the phone is shit. I just want always on logging!

Future Man!

How are the pointy forward bindings working in real life?

Really good mate, super stoked that I committed to it. The ONLY thing I don’t like about it is that it’s a little harder to get in/out of them than a standard mounting

Do you always Rock the heel strap?

Only on proper offroad stuff, if i’m on the road i just leave them flipped up

Have you pondered taking them off and giving it a go?

Not really. I can’t imagine riding the airs without bindings to be honest

Fuckin cunts at work. I have been leaving the step bro leaning up in an unused corner at work so it’s inside and out of the way.

Obviously one of the factory fuckwits has decided to try and have a go of it and snapped off my ballsack and destroyed my tail light. Pretty fuckin pissed off. Why do people touch shit that isn’t theirs :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Was planning on an upgrade on the tail light anyway, so now that’s getting fast tracked. Just ordered this beast off amazon

Hopefully i can make that work in a way that’s tougher to avoid this happening again. Gonna need to see if i can keep the board in the office now cos obviously the cunts on the floor can’t be trusted

Yeah i had the remote. They still managed to break it. So fucking annoyed. Its not even the fact that it’s cost me money or that I have to spend time fixing it or any of that, it’s the principle that they didn’t have permission to touch my shit yet they touched it and fucking broke it anyway. Its so fucking rude

You should rename it CastraBro

Sooooo it took a little while but the tail light has been restored!

Unfortunately it no longer resembles a ballsack, but it should be a LOT stronger as it is an aluminium/TPU sandwich now. And it still acts as a stand!

Plus, it has indicators and a horn! Ultimate wank factor!!!

Next step is to design a little mount for the remote to attach to my torch!

I had left this video to load while I was already doing something else on my computer and the blinker light sounds scared the shit out of me :see_no_evil:

My god sound that is obnoxious hahahah

I don’t know how I missed this entire thread. Wow @glyphiks, incredible work. I’ve spent the last hour trying to get caught up on this build.

You Sir have my vote for 2023 BOTY.

Ok so the remote case design wasn’t too hard. I didn’t test fit the torch, but eyeing up the profile on the screen it looks like it’ll be fiiiiine.

Next on the to-do list is to design new mounts for these headlights… the current solution just doesn’t stand up to my ride style. Hopefully some hot glue and blutack keeps it in place for a little while
