The Last | Jet Potato Rocker 34.5 | 12s4p 30Q | Elofty | Unity | Abec Superfly 97

Hey guys, this is going to be my last build so I want to take my time this Fall finishing it.

This is going to be my first time working with direct drives, so hopefully, everything goes well with the eloftys. The past year, I’ve been using my Jet Spud 29" 10s2p Sanyo single TB 6374 commuting around the school, and I want to switch over to something quieter awhile maintain great speed and good range.

So for the build, I was lucky to pick up a Jet Potato Rocker 34.5 locally from Facebook for $50

and some Abec Superfly 97 for $60.

I also picked up a unity from the sale a couple months back for $200

Avio remote that I made during the summer.

Some craft foam for making the enclosure mold and filberglass clothe, resin, and other stuff for making the enclosure.

And this is mostly everything I have so far except the eloftys which are ordered through @murdomeek groupbuy, and the 12s4p battery.

I’ve spotweld a 10s4p battery before with but not a 12s pack, and I’m still pretty rusty with battery building, so I was hoping you guys can help me through with this last one.

What BMS do you guys recommend I should use for a 12s pack? Most likely only need a bypass/charge only BMS. What type of charger, and could you guys also provide links? I want it to charge quick but not overheat and kill the battery, so whats safe, 4amp, 6amp, 8amps?. Where do you guys get the esk8 squads PCBs? Are they good? What are the benefits of it? I already got my shrink wrap, fishing tape, and I’m going to be source my cells from ru.nkon.nl.

Great Build I am waiting on 50 x VTC6 from ru.nkon.nl for my elofty evo build. Warning on site said it can take a month just to send :frowning:

@Movation The last time I order from them it took around 2-3 weeks. And the a few cells I got were damaged so they sent me replacements and those took a week and half.

Looking great! quite like the jet potato deck…

for the bms you can use charge only. The Bestech D140 is quite popular: https://buildkitboards.com/products/bestech-d140-charge-only-bms

For the charger 4-8 amps should be safe. I am using a 6a charger for my 12s6p pack. https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/32829834144.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.445b4c4drY9dZy The quality seems nice and you can specify what connector you want.

Any update on this build? How did the elofty fit on the jet?
