The Definitive Guide to Metr App / Metr Pro

Any idea why I’m getting an error accessing all my records please? They worked fine before… Temporary glitch?

Please go to Play Store and update to v4.10.9 and try again

Awesome, thanks. I should have thought of that!

Now that’s exciting stuff, man. That’s like replay Shangri-La. Will it also be possible to bring up the full telemetry trace alongside the video?

Yeeeeeeeessss!!! Now this is cool! I hope you make it work with 4wd aswell!

It will be possible to bring up anything that is available right now on the Realtime tab. Including 4WD, yes

Nice! But not the timeline-plot (yet)? :grimacing:

Wait, this is done on the phone? No more messing with Virb?

I need some ideas like that. What overlay would you like to see?
Realtime timeline plot? For how long? What values?

@Pedrodemio yes everything will be done on the phone, in real time.

Really cool, if possible also allow that to be done with videos not taken with Metr, like I transfer from a action camera to the phone and import into Metr, probably will need a way to sync it by hand

And have it so you can set it as mixed (imperial / metric) units - degrees C and miles, in the records. :+1:

If I get the metr can with sd and GPS, will it auto upload logs over Bluetooth or do they have to be manually pulled?

It will. Records are pulled automatically in the background.

go an issue with the smart watch app, it was working perfectly fine till i rode it last it just started showing me Run metr on your phone though its already running?

I’ve got an issue it seems with the Raiden 7 Zescs I had my metr pro with GPS working just fine until I switched over to the new Zescs, it doesnt seem to detect the ESC, I gotta double check the ESC connection but im pretty 100% it’s all connected as it should, is there a way to diagnose this difference in firmware of the (Z)ESC causing issues ?

Edit: just wiring issue, works fine with the Raiden 7 zescs

Hi Roman,

First off - what a great piece of hardware + software!

I built my board late 2017 following whitepony’s build on the other forum.
Everything worked fine, but in the meantime you guys came along a really made putting the Metr Pro into the build a necessity. :sunglasses:

The drive train consisted of two Enertion Focboxes connected via Can. I pulled off the wiring for the Can-bus and connected the Metr Pro in its place to both ESCs. In addition, I also pulled the old bluetooth receiver and put in its place a receiver for the Hoyt puck.

Everything worked!

I noted that in the Metr app it was using PPM (important later). Since I needed to update the firmware on the ESCs - they hadn’t been upgraded since I built the board I went ahead and did the wizards with Ackmaniac ESC tool.

Closed everything back up and everything works great - better than before, but I noticed a couple of things while browsing Expert Mode on the app.

It has both my ESCs [App to Use = ADC]
It showed both master and slave ESCs with [Send status over CAN = yes]

I realize this might be a question better suited under ACK’s thread, but I’m trying to understand why the tool is using ADC and not PPM - or maybe I just understand the modes properly - entirely possible since I’ve been away for so long. Also, why is the CAN status the same under both ESCs?

I’ll ping @mmaner as well since it appears he’s helping out/taken over the Ack tool nowadays.

Any help is appreciated!

I suppose you have Metr Pro CAN right? Just curious.

This is weird. Does the Hoyt puck work? I suppose it does since you mention that everything works great. It might be a bug in the Metr app. Can you please open it, connect to your board, then go to Settings tab → Show Logs → send to support@metr.at?

Send status over CAN should only be enabled on the slave as far as I remember.

Did you figure it out? Or does watch app still not work?

@rpasichnyk I tested the legacy overlay app today and it didn’t work for me. Is it possible it no longer works with the latest logs? The Garmin VIRB Edit is very fancy but the choice of overlay values is limited. I’d like to see my current / braking current to be able to analyze where I accelerated and where I braked on the T-race track.

Correct.

Yes. I even changed the [Use App = ADC] in the master to [PPM UART] and that works fine.
I also changed [Send Status over CAN = NO] on the master…and things still work fine!

I do have one other issue which might be a clue to what’s going on. If I attempt to switch modes using [Until Reboot] option Metr Pro always times out. :man_shrugging:

I’ll send the logs right on over - thanks.
