The Definitive Guide to Metr App / Metr Pro

Is the metro pro work with a spinted Ubox ? Because I don’t see the same ref on the jst pins ?

Yes it will work, but you have to disable remote because it uses the same pins. Search this forum, I remember I saw it somewhere!

Couldn’t find the answer via searchbox. Where do I find connection diagram for basic pro module to ZESC Raiden 7 via UART? Got module laying around for 2 years, thought it’d be easy as plug and play, but not.
Raiden’s pinout can be found here:

What pins of the JST connector are necessary for Metr Pro to work?

Only four pins: 3.3V, GND, TX and RX need to be connected. The cable uses 7 wires to match ESCs 7 pin connector. We can not provide a cable with missing wires and we don’t really have time to remove them. You can’t power the module with 5V.

Unpin 3.3V, GND, TX, RX from the cable and connect to VESC

Thank you. I obviously tried unsuccesfully with 5V before asking and didn’t look further for information I wrongly assumed belongs to Setup part of your website.

too late already have the pro…

Why dosent the Max speed setting work for me? I tried to set it to 15 (6189 ERPM) But the board got up to at least 30kph and would go even faster. I want to have a mode where it dosent go faster than 25 kph

I think I found the problem. The pullys was set to 1 and wheel to 90mm :stuck_out_tongue:

In Settings → Remote Access.
Is it usable somehow to get remote access on other modules or is this just for @rpasichnyk to get access?

This is upcoming feature that will hopefully be useful for vendors who want to tweak / check settings directly in the VESC Tool instead of trying with customer over the phone (which is often a pain)

Then MetrBridge (a separate small app) has to be launched on the same machine as VESC Tool

Finally VESC Tool connects to MetrBridge which connects to metr.at server → customer phone → Metr Pro → VESC

Super cool! Does the remote access code change each time the connection is established? If not, I would consider that for security sake

Yes, it changes every time.

This is amazing!

Just installed my metr pro can and so stoked to use it! Love that I can see data on my Apple Watch while riding!

Just had a clarification question regarding the “announcement” settings. With the default settings for speed will the app announce my speed every 10s starting at 10s and stopping at 100s? And, for distance is the app announcing the distance every 10s starting at 10s and stopping after 100s?

It tells you [Every ten seconds] as long as you are above 10km/h and below 100km/h. for example.

For voltage i use:

Every 60s
Starting from 29(v)
Stop at 33(v)

So metr tells me my voltage every 60s but only when I’m between 29v and 33v.

So for example for battery will it announce every 10s the remaining percentage? I get the every 10s default time interval but it’s just a bit unclear what units are used for the corresponding parameter being announced.

For battery it will use the current percentage that it has in the second the announcement starts. I would rather use the voltage instead since it’s exact, compared to the percentage which can differ depending on what voltage setting per cell you have used.

depends on what system you use Imperial or metric. (can be changed in the settings under miscellaneous)
