The battery builders club

I wonder what would happen if you were to connect this pack across all 4 charging ports at the same time?

Whould it charge 4 times faster? I don’t see why not?

Ma£¶`∆¶|{ man

This helped me get my batteries from 1.5v to fully charged again.

I believe it’s mah man…

Well if you wanna get technical, it’d be mAh man

Say watt?

Tried, doesn’t work. Charger keeps trying to sense the cells and it can’t.

Nope, the bays are all on isolated circuits, that get individually sensed by the device. Putting the p-group in all 4 just shorts it. Other than that, genius idea.

I built that embarrassing monstrosity a while back. I originally had it attached to the bottom of a urethane board with those velcro straps that you can loop through a metal rectangle and pull really tight. Without any movement it lasted about 600 miles with no visible damage to the braids. It wasn’t until I “upgraded” my enclosure to a plastic case that the battery must have been able to move around ever so slightly. I couldn’t see any movement but it must have been moving around when riding because it was only a few hundred miles later that it looked like that.

Thankfully that pack no longer exists and the board has since been rebuilt with a flexi-pack and a fiberglass enclosure.

I think braids can work in a flexi-pack if the movement is kept to an absolute minimum… but with any significant movement they are probably going to fail eventually.

I wonder if a flat heat shrink would help prolong the life of braids by spreading out the movement…

Thanks a lot. I must say that in my case the flexing is really minimal. So I should be OK. I’ll be checking the pack every now and then.

It will be a nice “experiment” for the community

Does anyone here have experience with the LLT bms asking for a pin code?
Im on IOS and its asking for a pin code but 000000 and 123456 aren’t working, I’ve tried 0123456 111 etc but with no luck.

123456 should work, except if you changed it. Have you tried leaving it blank?

Cant leave it blank, tells me I have to fill in a 6 digit pin

So after some more testing, if the copper braid gets over heated it becomes very brittle. Which is what I am guessing happened on this pack. - YouTube

Who did you buy it from?

Maybe @Lee_Wright can chime in - the Apex shockpads / tunnel grip pads for the Bro come with braid (and heat shrink) for the battery leads under the back foot.

The video is set to private. :pensive:
The braid gets brittle without any solder being added, just heat?

Reset your ble on your phone and the app. If that doesnt work, then try uninstalling the app and reinstalling. If that doesnt work Idk.

Last month I had an issue like that with one of three llt bms I have in use. It would always keep asking for a pin, I’d put it in there and hit next, and it would wait maybe 10 seconds and pop the pin screen back up. Again, this only was happening on one of them. The other two had no issues connecting. I’d pop the pin back in and hit next, 10 seconds, it pops back up.

I later realized it was only happening while I was charging. Apparently the app and bms have issues communicating over ble while charging.

Just my experience with that issue
