The battery builders club

It’s like the 3rd time I shared it lmao I think they are a bit cheaper than the ones from Nkon
and I think you can have a Esk8 ‘discount’ if you email them with mention of Esk8

Price aside, they don’t ship to the US, at least according to last time when I asked them over email. Has that changed?

I do not know they said on their topic that would probably change and tried to make an agreement with Fedex or UPS ( don’t remember wich one exactly)

So… should I just go ahead and stock up on some P28/26a cells and whatever else I can find?

Are we talking the rest of 2021 being a wash?
:flushed:

Pain

I skimmed through the fogstar thread and I didn’t see any updates regarding the whole shipping to the US situation, just that nickel is being shipped.

Whichhh I guess brings me back to whether or not the Sanyo 30700A or Molicel 20700A are worth it? I would consider the P26a but they’re lower in capacity than I would like.

Well, if you plan to buy a higher amount you can email them too and maybe haggle a bit.

Sorry if I missed an obvious thing…but I can’t find your post on this cell. Did you publish it?

Many thanks.

Sorry, not yet. Hopefully soon.

True, but if they don’t list the bigger quantities in the list on the battery’s page they usually don’t have a lot of stock and prices will be higher.

Understood.
At first glance, do they seem like they’d be a good 30Q/VTC6 alternative, or should I just stock up on the P28a?

Full details will be in the test report. Early release info to my patrons only as they support my testing efforts financially, sorry.

The P28A is a good cell though about equal to the P26A when above a few amps and running a bit longer than the P26A when under 5A or so.

The P26A/P28A runs for longer than the 30Q and VTC6 when above 17A or so since the Molicels are more efficient at higher current levels. The 30Q and VTC6 can run for a bit longer at lower current levels.

Has anyone tried spot welding copper but with a nickel strip over it ? I saw a post on a fb group with a guy that was supposedly sucessful with it :man_shrugging: might as well try i dunno

I’ve done it, will dig up some pictures, you have to do it a certain way but yeah I’ve welded nickel strips over copper braid and even copper braid to nickel. I don’t recomend this over soldering

it was copper sheets tho maybe it would be easier to weld compared to copper braid and if I can spot weld it instead of soldering it I wont say no lol, would be for a solid pack btw
