60A fuse on discharge cable and 10A for fuse for charging is enough or do I need something like 90A fuse for discharge?

I’d do like a 75-80 amp fuse on the main. You want maybe 10-20% overhead past the maximum you’ll ever draw.
Since that pack can handle 60A continuous, I’d set the fuse above that just in case you decide to upgrade to something other than the hobbywing ESC that comes with that kit, and you want more battery current.

That price is pretty insane. Bound motor sells the same drives with no esc, you would use something vesc based anyway, for much cheaper than that onsra kit.

I personally don’t use discharge fuses. Tho I always fuse my charge port. A discharge fuse could make a difference is some specific scenarios but I don’t think it’s worth the risk of it blowing improperly and tossing you or popping your esc with it.

I replaced 3 p-groups that started to dip faster than the rest in my 12s daily driver pack over a month ago and it’s been holding up great. I wouldn’t do it with anything other than with a bluetooth bms so I could keep an eye on it.

These guys don’t seem to agree that reshuffling old + new cells is an acceptable solution:

However most of what I’ve read doesn’t take into account use of a bms with active balancing like we do. These guys are suggesting it depends on the capabilities of your bms:

It’s sub-optimal for sure but for a not-too-old pack with an otherwise good history I’m willing to take the risk. We abuse the crap out of these anyway.

Which charge fuses do you guys like to use?

Mini blade fuses. They’re automotive so it’s unlikely they’re actually rated for 50V, but I have had no issues using 10A fuses. If you say, wire the charge port in reverse, when you plug in a charger the fuse immediately pops and you realize your foolish mistake.

I was thinking about Boundmotor dd but I live in EU so with customs duty I need to pay much more for esc and motors from USA or china than Onsra kit. And it’s my first build so I wanted somethink half done already, in future I will change Hobbywing for some VESC.

Those are low KV, if I want to use 105mm Cloudwheels I would be able to ride only 43-45km/h, I want something closer to 50. But those dd’s are pretty good too, I will think about them.

You can run them on 12s with esk8supply’s ESC and pick up 2-3 mph.

I’m gonna use 12s but esk8suplly don’t have ESC’s right now.

These things are everywhere. NFStrike carries them. Though if you don’t mind sourcing your own remote, much better 12s ESC options abound.

I’m searching right now for some ESC, I was thinking about Flipsky.

Don’t do that, unless you want to buy two times. Been there…

Yeah, those have problems often, but I don’t know anything better for this price, maybe focbox but I don’t know where to buy it too.

Check out MakerX, also from China.

Please god no. Best value in esk8 is the Maker-X DV4.

The DV6 is also a great deal.

What about BKB Xenith/focbox unity?

Yup, another good way to go. Depends on your budget.

Don’t buy from the thief Jason Potter. Xenith is a far better choice for a number of reasons.
