Focbox Unity, 2x Trampa VESC 6 would be the two best I can reccomend. Both pricey however.
Unity is now on USA amazon and people got theirs nice and quick.

To be clear though, the Unity isn’t in the same league as the VESC 6 in terms of reliability and dependability… But it can pump out some good amps 🤷

Yeah if you got the money 2 x trampa 6+ they are solid
As these guys have said, best is subject to budget of course but 2 x trampa vesc 6 would be preferable as actual escs. The unity is so easy to use but I feel uncomfortable with it these days unfortunately.
I’ve been through a bunch of flipskys, maytech’s, hobbyking, random ebay ones and they all broke at one point or another. I should have just bought vesc 6 from the start. They would have been trustworthy, reliable and cost less in the long run

yes kinda understsand that so its either vesc or the trampra then, im reall sick, hope to get it going

Every so often some used trampa one so come on sale on the forum rarely though And the price tends to be 140-160ÂŁ per vesc when you can buy from them for 225ÂŁ

Just to be clear, If you decide to make a moderately small build and say only use a single 6355 or something, you CAN achieve reliability with a single 4.XX (Focbox or hell even a FSESC 4.12) - subject to it not having a manufacturer error, if you run a VESC based controller at 10S, 35 Amps or something its much more likely to last a long time.
Most here run more extreme performance, 60-80+ amps at 12S. Such performance is only reliable on Trampa VESC6 and perhaps an original focbox imo. The unity has issues with the crappy onboard switch and its still kind of in development as new issues pop up from user testing.

I mean, if you buy a fsesc and it dies after warranty your out £220 AND you’re not riding for that time…
Once you’ve been in the hobby for long enough and dialed in exactly what you want to ride, and you’ve blown vescs, motors, bent mounts etc you kind of stop looking at the price and start asking how long its going to last. The “I’m done with unreliability” moment happens to most. Of course there is value in buying cheaper components, but once you are confident that you’ll be sticking around in the hobby and have money to buy the premium stuff, the value becomes more clear

What about a single motor setup? I get that it adds torque and acceleration to have 2 motors and a trampa 2x vesc6 but besides quenching the veterans never ending quest for speed and death and who have never ending piles of cash… what is the best vesc out there at a reasonable price (below 200$) for a guy running a single motor/esc setup
