SuperSpine #041 - WELKOM

ride it and see where your feet end up. even if you just kick push it is what i’d recommend. i prefer a wide stance on my bosses and am fortunate enough to have gotten video of where my feet end up on the board so imma roll with that for my next board

I don’t like the default binding placement where they tell you where the deck edges should be. Like Ash said ride it first and see where you like your foot unless you already know. I like the mbs template because they actually depict the outline of the foot. So, after knowing how I like my foot placed, I position the template so it follows the foot on the paper.

Thanks!

Il couldn’t find the template for MBS. Do you have the link?

I wonder if the new MBS F5X Bindings with Baseplates would suit the SuperSpine Trak-hawk deck.

I’m not sure because of curvature of the baseplate :

I’m afraid it will give poor control if the curvature of the deck is not the same.

Wow that’s so weird it’s gone I can’t find it anymore either. Wonder if someone else saved a copy.

@MBS?

Nvm thanks @AlexB

So, I personally go more aggressive toe pointing more forward a bit. So board edge doesn’t line up and page is more tilted.

You could use the same bindings on a completely flat deck no problem afaik. I don’t think the foot plate is designed to push on the deck

That’s correct.

What I did was putting some griptap at the foot area and then did couple of rounds on a parking lot with sharp turning etc. after a while there was a good foot print visible on the the griptape where my foot was mainly. That helped me placing my binding.

Ok, but this Trak-hawk deck have a W concave which extends from the front mounting points to the rear mounting points (so further than it appears in the photo).

I suppose the adjustment disc of F5X needs to be placed on a flat area.

Yes I would definitely agree with that. If it were my problem, I’d look at routing a flat spot into the deck for the disc.

What the best way to grip this Trak-hawk deck?

Just the standard screwdriver - razor blade - file method?

Or should I cut the griptabe first and glue it to the deck second?

this is probably gonna be the easiest unless you laser cut it to size

I’d always recommend coarse glass frit, if you’re willing to go through the trouble

I’ve finally chosen griptape with eyecut and scissors.

Not gonna lie, I didn’t even know 560kv motors were possible for esk8, insane build

@MoeStooge

I’ve got an issue after installing the motors (56118).

The motor housings are touching, so I can’t get the wheel sprocket and motor sprocket to touch on one side! :sleepy:

67T wheel sprocket and 10T motor sprocket.

Maybe with 78T wheel sprockets the motor housings would be far enough apart.

Where did you get 10t pinions?

Moe sells them Pinion Gear – Stooge Raceboards, LLC

Have seen them other typical spots too, amazon, eBay etc

Cool, I’m guessing they’re losi?

These 10T sprockets were in the package. Moe sent me 3x 10T sprockets and 2x 11T sprockets.

As someone else said, the visual aspect of these 10T sprockets is really worse than the 11T sprockets, even though they are new. They cannot be the same brand IMO.

I had to file the inside of the sprockets to make them fit the axles because there were small pieces of metal around the adjustment screw holes.

Moe advised me to use the 11T sprockets.
