"Summerboard" what?!

I saw this and I thought you should all see this in action, this drifting concept looks really strange.

Anyone ride one ?

I think @Fosterqc knows a thing or 2 about these.

I was laying in bed last night thinking I should make a SBX2 General discussion thread since all the hubub about the sbx1 (and sbx1 v2) problems are made irrelevent by the SBX2. Nice fresh start to the complaints.

I have a V1, the “Leitech eSnowboard”. I bought it almost nine years ago! (27 December 2015) I’ve replaced the ESCs with VESCs. Voltage is 8S with Lipos now.

Last time I’ve used it I thought it was difficult to control and ride is horrible if tarmac is not perfect and smooth.

I still had a lot of fun using it when I got used to it a few years ago.

The real problem, in my opinion, is that there are too few places to fully enjoy it.

I’m amazed to see videos of people using the new version on all kinds of surfaces, even dirt!

Is this a reality or is the problem of the quality of the road surface still the same with the new version?

If it has improved, what is it due to? A gain in power (how many S now)? The wider central wheels?

Wow. I had no idea lots of people had these. I can’t get my head around the concept of drifting like that … Thanks for the tips !

This is a freeboard… the gravity powered version.

You even can DIY a e-powered version :innocent:

I ride a SBX1 with freshies (more dampening wheels) which is practicaly the same as a SBX2 with the better caster system. I see a lot of video’s in the states where road conditions seem much better than where I live.

If I wanted to commute with the SBX I would’t get far with it. Riding experience is pretty bad on uneven pavement, rough concrete etc. Therefore I build a version with much bigger wheels. That’s the one I use when doing a big sesh around the block :sunglasses:

i am true amazed that your casters survived that long. mine started cracking in a few months.

They have cracks in them… for now it is still ridable. To be honest… I’ll probably never buy a SBX again. I like to DIY :metal:

Funny thing is that when you ride most people don’t see the extra set of wheels under it…They just can’t wrap their head around it when you throw out a 360 or start riding switch out of nothing :innocent:
